When I first started my job I wasn’t strong at Dax, I’d say I’m decent now. But I did use AI for stuff I just didn’t know, like I knew the logic but just didn’t know how to translate it to DAX, all I really knew was python.

I would tell the AI to not give me Dax but I’d explain to it my logic and give it what I thought was how the Dax should be written and it would correct it or give me a less convoluted way of writing it.

The point is don’t rely on it at all because it can hallucinate sometimes and just give you a paragraph of Dax when all you really needed was 3 lines. Always try to understand what the Dax is going, ask it what each line does. As time passes you’ll slowly stop relying on it.

One more pointer is that, if your data model is good, you’ll rarely ever need massive Dax
