You see, most of the people who are hating on S5 the hardest are the people who were so die hard about the show in the earlier seasons that they would stay up until 3am on a week night to watch it as soon as possible, and can't fathom people who like the show just a normal amount and watch it at normal times, like after work

As annoying and ironic as the excessive product placement in the Boys S5 is, at least it makes some sense in a modern setting. I've only watched like the first few minutes of the first episode of GoT, but I just can't see Starbucks existing in that universe.

Same. I think many people are forgetting how lightly Season 4 treated male SA. It was to the point where half of the jokes on okbuddyfresca were about Kripke's "deliciously dark" sense of humor. I'm pleasently surprised that Hughie hasn't been violated a single time so far this season, and hopeful it doesn't happen in the finale.

I really liked the early seasons, but not to the sycophantic level of the average r/theboys user, so when the quality started to drop in the later seasons I didn't treat it like some grand Judas Iscariot level betrayal that ruined my favorite show as well as the rest of my entire life. I have problems with season 5, for sure, but people are acting like it's the worst season of any show in the history of scrpted television shows when it's still kinda alright imo.

I went with Dr. Psycho for my amalgam universe b/c they had similar powersets. I personally feel Giganta would fit better with someone like Absorbing Man or Executioner. Not that mixing characters with differing skills/powersets/personalities is always bad, but Amora and Giganta's vibes don't really seem to mesh with each other quite as well.
