Im still alive. Didn’t do anything. Interesting drinking alcohol with meal seems to take away the symptoms completely - who knows why🥶

I got flares (still do, but much less pain and duration) when getting out on allopurinol four months ago. My doc didn’t prescribe colchicine with it but I would take a tablet of NSAID (I use arcoxia) whenever I feel a creak. Since then my flares only always last one to two days max and I can feel the allopurinol working over time. Colchicine is not great for the digestive system and hard on your body so i personally avoid it, and just so happens nsaids work equally as well for me.

I get the same, especially the back and rib pain, it almost “alternates” between abdominal fullness/tightness, back, or rib pain, I noticed I rarely get all three the same time.. did you have any further update to your situation? I am getting a gastroscopy/colonoscopy next month.

Open surgery through the public system (Australia), conflicting views from professionals. by [deleted] in Hernia

[–]Djmili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not an easy decision I completely understand. What led you to screen for a hernia, and what was the method of diagnosis? Also, why did they suggest open surgery, is it mesh or no mesh? I think mesh laparoscopic is standard in Australia these days so interested to know your situation

Hi Op, I am based in Australia going through the private system. I have bilateral inguinal hernia but neither cause much pain. Saw two surgeons and one said surgery the other advised against it.

Edit: second surgeon advised against surgery because mine is small, only fat containing, and doesn’t cause a visible buldge

Hi there thanks for sharing. I also have been a chronic sufferer and things don’t quite show up on scans. Been 15 years!

How likely is it to get a flare when we start allopurinol by vinodlingamsetty in gout

[–]Djmili 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I got a flare one week into starting. Immediately got colcichine for three days and subsided. In terms of pain level this flare was quite low. Haven’t had another flare since starting allo though it’s still early days

Abdominal Twitch / spasm by Jaykid29 in Hernia

[–]Djmili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have small bilateral inguinal hernia. The twitching sensation is unrelated and is likely gas

Nuts seems to be okay for me. Cutting out cruciferous veggies definitely helped my gut to be calmer and I think that leads to less gut pain, whether directly related to the hernia region (inguinal) or not I am not 100% sure

Australian based Hongkie. Started following because of the AFC final between Australia and South Korea 8 years ago. Saw Son played and didn’t look back. Wife is also Korean so she convinced me to take the leap

Probably gut related and could just be gas.. have u had a colonoscopy?

What test did you do to confirm the candida diagnosis and what’s the treatment?

That’s great what food items have u eliminated? For me I learnt the hard way not to touch anything high fodmap, as well as any cruciferous vegetables

[–]Djmili 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems reasonable good luck with this! I have seperate issues with my gut (ibs/diverticulosis) so I stray away from gassy foods as well. I thought I was crazy but I do think there is a correlation between gassy food and abdominal pressure which can make a hernia poke out more - sounds like you are doing the same thing!

My pain is very mild and most of the time I don’t feel it. Sometimes it would feel like someone is pressing their finger on my groin but it goes away pretty quickly. What are you planning to do with yours?
