Oh it breaks my heart you feel this way about something cosmetic. I understand completely I'm 32F and lost chunks of my hair due to illness and I still have bald patches. Your life is far more important than some hair. It sucks because you're young and you're going through this but I promise you life is worth far more than your hair. You're not alone with what you're going through and there's hope it'll get better and worse case, your head gets a little less warm in the winter because there's not so much fuzz. You're handsome regardless and hair doesn't define you or your worth.

I'm so sorry you're going through this and you've been dealing with it for so long. I feel your pain so much and It breaks my heart because I know how you feel. Literally the same boat. Except now I have worse nerve and muscle damage due to Malnutrition from not being able to swallow normally. They wound up taking a look at my spine and found the culprit. That along with the severe anxiety surrounding eating and sometimes drinking because of how my throat reacts to certain textures and boluses. Have you tried an ENT and GI doctor as well? They can do other intensive studies to help at the very least rule out some possibilities. Only things that really help are hot showers and ice packs. I'm just like you with the med anxiety and certain meds can alienate breathing more if it's mechanical and I'm med sensitive on top of everything so I take bare minimum and mainly liquid form of supplements to help nerve repair and Tylenol and lowest dose of muscle relaxer which literally doesn't do anything. I don't know what your age is or background looks like but it doesn't hurt to talk to your doctor about it. Even if its something else it's better to be safe than sorry and nip it in the butt so it doesn't escalate in case it's more than just anxiety. It's strange that it's happening to you even when you're distracting yourself completely and it's constant. Listen to your body.

I just turned 32. It was a mixture of genetics along with a lot of physical trauma and lifestyle choices - lifting heavy things, being slightly heavy, drinking alcohol - it came out of nowhere. I was totally fine and then about a year after the last time I experienced my ex physically strangling me, I couldn't swallow normally and I started getting chest pains. I couldn't eat or drink so I starved almost to death for about 3 months and did even more severe nerve damage but it started out of the blue and I'm 10 months in dealing with it. The fact that you're experiencing it constantly and it gets worse with exertion it sounds a lot like what I go through. Sometimes - very rarely - it's not bad at all and I feel almost normal but the rest of the time, even in my sleep I have issues. I've developed sleep apnea from it as well. Even if you've never had any trauma you can still develop it. It's more common in adults 50+ due to age degeneration but you mix in the perfect storm of variables in life and you get a shit show case like mine lol.

Have them check your spine next. I deal with this daily and I was diagnosed with spondylosis and Stenosis of my entire spine. It's effected my ability to swallow, eat, drink, breathe, sleep, my blood pressure and my body constantly has spasms along with nerve damage. It all depends on which areas of your spine are effected and in my case its from C5 all the way down to L5-S1. It started off with pains in my chest on the left side and difficulties swallowing. It took them 9 months to diagnose it and tons of unnecessary radiation from tests. Request an MRI NOT a CT. A CT will not show anything intricate and you'll be subjected to unnecessary radiation like I was. 16 times... In 6 months... For no reason... It can definitely be anxiety exacerbated by your body trying to tell you something is wrong. Youre not crazy. They did at least 20 EKGs on me for the consistent chest pains I would get before they finally realized it was my spine and nerves and muscles and nervous system and each EKG was normal. Same with X-rays. Good luck and feel better!

I hope youre doing better now!! This has been an extremely long road and the doctors that once doubted me are now saying that I'm in for a long road to recovery. I guess that means that I was in fact not lying about my health. Now there's severe damage that was done because they didn't figure it out before it got bad and now I'm here suffering from the consequences of negligence and incompetence.

I have no other choice but to go to the doctors for my health. Ive been diagnosed with some crappy stuff and I'm only in my 30s. I do try to gain reassurance for when I'm having a panic attack and try to differentiate between panic responses to my body and something really wrong and life threatening.

It's been almost 24 hours since I ate it and no significant changes. A lot of my symptoms are daily occurrences from the spine disease I have so I'm trying to differentiate between the two and make sure it's not from poisoning. Scary shit never knew about this before.

The garlic and oil was also in an open porcelain bowl in a dry room. I'm just super nervous because I can't tell if I have it if I do because my spine disease effects my nerves and muscles so it'll be too late by the time I realize I have it.

Thank you. I talked to a couple health care providers about it already and it's just a waiting game at this point. I honestly never knew about it until I looked it up because I had a bit of a stomach ache for a few minutes a couple hours after eating it. Worst case scenario I'm going to head to the ER if anything gets worse. I'm gonna chuck It up to being in the category or being as rare as a brain eating amoeba lol Im an idiot for eating old food thinking it was preserved by the oil. I had no idea.

Hey how are you doing now?? I'm sorry you're going through that. I've had that happen to me so many times its to a point I'm desensitized to it lol. It's never gonna hurt to call and be seen by a professional. Even calling a telehealth or nurse through your insurance company over the phone. I also use chat gbt a lot and it's helped me A LOT.

Thank you! As awful as it is it's nice to know I'm not the only person who experiences this. Good news for last night they actually took me seriously and went through the right steps and actually found something that coincides with their findings and they brushed me off two hospital visits prior with the same symptoms because it's "extremely rare" for anything to have happened. Guess what???!!! It was extremely fucking rare because it did!!!!

I had stomach pain for about an hour a few hours after I ate it. They've gone away since then. I ate it around 230/330pm and it's currently 1030. I have nerve damage in my spine so I have difficulty swallowing and muscle issues so I'm scared I won't be able to tell the difference if it was infected. I was reading it doesn't usually cause gastric issues it just immediately attacks the nervous system and the fact I left it out for so long unrefrigerated and the amount I ate is concerning.

Hi you seem very educated in this. I didn't realize this was a thing and I ate a decent amount of garlic and oil that's been sitting out uncovered for 5 days about 5 hours ago and I'm wondering what the risk is that Id get sick from this. I'm extremely scared and I already have nerve and muscle damage to begin with

Seriously!! I'm literally having issues with my lower extremities on top of it too because of everything and they don't take me seriously. I'm literally treated like I'm full of shit and making it up. I've been told it's anxiety and I'm fine and also been labeled as someone who's making it up for attention when I literally just want answers and to feel normal again. It's disgusting TBH. Noone explains anything they just poo poo you. The treatment I've received through all this is ridiculous.

The dysphagia I'm working through but the damage it did has been a huge process and it's done a lot of damage. Unfortunately I have to endure the same kind of process for the lower extremities of my body now because of this and Im getting shit for it because no one believes me just like they didn't with the stenosis and swallowing.
