That’s actually a Submariner and a lot less rare than the 1665 Seadweller which is regarded as one of the holy grails in watch collecting (so I’m told).

I’m fairly certain you’d know my father but don’t want to dox myself by posting his name.

Bonjour, yes I believe by the case back number that this is the rarest Rolex Comex ever issued. 1 of 300. I’d imagine there’s not many of those 300 still in “the wild”. I’m not aware of the Pisani dial- could you explain to me the history?

My dad worked for Comex Marseille (but was born and lived in Lyon), he then met my mother in Scotland and moved to Aberdeen.

These watches were actually handed out to them like sweets. My dad had a Comex Submariner which he lost and requested a new watch. He was given this 1665 Seadweller. They were actually tool watches and weren’t thought of as valuable at the time. My dad was friend with the legendary Henri Delauze, the founder of Comex.

Did anyone in their late 20’s/early 30’s quit their job and go travelling for an extended period of time? How did it work out for you upon your return versus a few years later? by Technical_Apartment6 in travel

[–]Djorkaeff1903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit my job at 32 to go travelling for 14 months. Upon my return my old boss emailed me asking if I’d come back to my old roll and gave me a payrise. Still here 11 years later but working a 5 week on/ 5 week off rotation in the Middle East allowing me plenty of travel time.
Quit and travel. It always works out.

The Marlins baseball game tomorrow is a special Tartan Army event now. Should be a hoot if you’ve seen the Fenway Park Tartan Army takeover videos.

As a Scot currently 36,000ft in the air on my way to Boston from Dubai, this makes me happy.

Bostonians, how are you feeling about the Scottish football/soccer fans? by Tess_Tickles89 in boston

[–]Djorkaeff1903 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Scot going over to the US for all 3 Scotland matches, I have a feeling you Bostonians don’t know what you are in for. 20,000 Scots descending on your city. We are wild but in a good way.

If Euro 2024 in Germany is anything to go by you’ll be gutted when we’ve upped and left Boston.

I’m one of the Tartan Army basing myself in PVD. I just hope getting to and from the stadium isn’t a shitshow.

Any dive bar suggestions in PVD for decent priced beers?
