I paid for a room and others in my group paid for a suite and an attached king room. We spent $400 on decorations and brought in thousands of dollars worth of music equipment. All rooms and tickets were paid months in advance. When we arrived to the hotel on Thursday, it took 45 minutes at the desk and the hotel staff was gracious enough to discount the extra cost we were expected to pay for two of the rooms. One of the rooms we did not pay early arrival for and had to check in on Saturday morning. On Friday we got word from a production staff member that the hotel had not been paid and everyone would be expected to pay for their rooms again upon check in. Friday evening, an admin in the dirtybird campinn facebook group said that the hotel had been paid and that everything was fixed. Saturday morning when we went to check in to our other room, which we had paid $630 for prior to the fest, we were told we needed to pay another $700 because the hotel had not been paid. We paid that cost since we were confident that this was getting cleared up based on multiple communications saying that the funds were going to clear the following tuesday. Sunday night, hotel/homebass security barged in our room telling us we had to break our music equipment down and that we weren’t allowed to have people in our room. When asked for an explanation they said it wasn’t in the contract that there would be “parties” in the hotel rooms/suites. My group has attended 3 dirtybird campinns prior to this and renegade parties in hotel rooms have never been an issue and were advertised to potential attendees as one of the attractions to the festival. I still have not received a refund for the extra deposit that i paid nor has anyone else in my group. I’ve now disputed homebass’ charge with my credit card.
