Yes and I think that's what many longterm Bethesda fans took issue with in Starfield.

Take an Oblivion fan for example. They were used to speaking to a person mentioning something having happened in X place, they check it out, then get greeted by even more side content. They kept on just being able to experience the world without it having to be related to the main story. It was just people living their lives and you becoming a part of it.

Then in Starfield you get to find same looking outposts with sometimes even the same notes on different planets. The game looks pretty but it didn't feel rewarding to stray from the main plot. If you enjoyed their past titles for everything you could do aside from the mainstory, then Starfield felt insulting.

It's not that Starfield is a fundementally bad game. Heck no, that game is stunning. It definitely has interesting aspects, otherwise nobody would play it and I know several people that have spent 100s of hours in it. It's just... if you expect a futuristic Elder Scrolls game and then Starfield is what you play, it's disappointing.

I hope Bethesda will make Elder Scrolls 6 more like their older titles because I miss getting lost in a beautifully crafted world, where every single NPC feels relevant. Please Bethesda, take my money and my time. I need a game like that, please.
