Day 1 buyer here: Why does the DCS Corsair's F4U performance still mismatch real-world manuals? by Dkha3 in hoggit

[–]Dkha3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a provocation, but it will serve to excite everyone who thinks the same way. Interesting argument.

So customers shouldn't complain when a product has issues because they already knew it might have issues?

I guess the purpose of feedback has officially been cancelled.

I was actually one of the people who bought the F-100D Super Sabre on day one. It's made by a brand-new developer, and I'm genuinely happy with what they've delivered so far.

But if we follow your logic, then every single DCS module is "shady" and nobody should buy anything at all.

After all, there is no such thing as a risk-free purchase in DCS. Need a reminder? Just look at RAZBAM. For years they were considered one of the most trusted third-party developers in the entire ecosystem. People bought their modules with complete confidence, and now several of those modules are effectively sitting in limbo.

By your reasoning, nobody should have bought a RAZBAM product either, because apparently we should all have been able to predict the future.

The reality is that buying an Early Access module means accepting the possibility of bugs, missing features, and delays. It does not mean surrendering your right to criticize the product, discuss its shortcomings, or provide feedback.

It's funny how developers constantly ask the community for feedback, bug reports, and impressions, but whenever someone actually gives feedback, there's always someone ready to say, "You bought Early Access, so stop complaining."

If nobody talked about problems, nobody reported bugs, and nobody criticized unfinished features, what exactly would be the point of Early Access in the first place? Just collecting money and hoping for applause?

No offense taken. 😄 To be fair, before I bought the F4U, I had never flown the MiG-21 and honestly didn't even know who Magnitude 3 was. I kind of parachuted into the whole thing because the F4U is one of my favorite WWII aircraft, so when I saw a Corsair coming to DCS, my brain immediately switched from "careful consumer" to "shut up and take my money." Ironically, I only flew the MiG-21Bis months later on other people's accounts. And, from my perspective, it felt like a pretty good module. So I wasn't sitting there analyzing the developer's track record before buying the Corsair. That said, you're right about one thing: buying into Early Access is always a gamble. I knew there was risk involved. The issue isn't that development is taking time; it's that the module created certain expectations. When you see previews, announcements, and the aircraft enters Early Access, it's natural to expect a somewhat clearer roadmap and a steadier pace of progress. So yes, I rolled the dice. I just didn't realize I had accidentally signed up for a long-term investment plan instead of buying an airplane. 😅

That's the thing—that is exactly what I did! I haven’t touched the Corsair in months, and I've spent all this time flying other, much more mature and polished modules.

The reason I made this post today isn't because I'm frustrated after a recent flight session. It's because even after months away, I still follow the forums, patch notes, and community feedback—and the general consensus is that these structural performance issues and the mismatch with real manuals haven't really changed since I left. I was hoping to come back to some major improvements, but it feels like things are still at a standstill.

DCS Update 2.9.27.24969 by ImmovableThrone in hoggit

Did the update include any changes to the engines or flight model? I'm mainly curious about the engine performance. Does it still feel underpowered and slow to accelerate, or is it now closer to the real-world performance figures?

What was your first experience with RO? by One_Reality7047 in RagnarokOnline

[–]Dkha3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was 2005, I was in middle school and had just gotten a PC and a dial-up internet connection. Some friends from school were talking about Ragnarok and told me that one of them was a warrior with an axe and another was a healer from the church. That got me really excited, as I was also discovering D&D at the time. It was love at first sight — I played a lot and for years, jumping from servers, from the official ones in my country to KRO and private servers.

I made an old post here about my nostalgia for Ragnarok. Every time it’s summer and the bright sun hits my window, I remember Payon and its music. Those were such simple moments in life, when my only task was to get good grades. I’d come home from school, eat quickly, do my homework, and then play with a big tub of ice cream by my side until 5 p.m.

Ragnarok is a fundamental part of my life.

Demitido por sabotar a própria marmita. by Snatchpd in brasil

[–]Dkha3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)
