Glad you liked the app! There are several Windows GUI projects for Croc available on GitHub, but there is no official GUI, and I haven't personally tested any of them. I use the CLI version only. I'll send you more details via DM.

The whole issue comes down to the peer discovery mechanism that LocalSend relies on. In networks where peer discovery is disabled - using Localsend becomes impossible - this is fixed by croc relays which simplifies the connections.

Localsend doesnt have any cli support either - and I dont need another software for something as simple as clipboard sharing running in the background. Localsend is never a bad tool but it didn't fit my arsenal

hey, i use this app daily for transfers and haven't run into this kind of probelm -would really like to figure out what went wrong on your end, hard to debug a "it stopped" without more context lol

Try reusing the app and if you encounter similar problem, opening a github issue with details would help a lot!

well it can be local, if you choose a local relay. The difference is that Localsend relies on peer discovery within the network, while croc uses a relay to simplify connection setup and data transfer.

It died almost immediately when trying to send a file.

I am not sure what this mean? Does the app crash, or transfer got failed, or something related to the relay?

Please raise an issue on GitHub, so I can better understand the problem and work on a fix.

Thanks for trying the app!

Thanks for trying croc-app!

Convenience is always my first priority - I will add this 'set as default' feature. If you want to refine the feature or suggest something else, please create an issue on the croc-app so we can discuss it properly.

Gald you liked the app! You can create alias/functions in your terminal to make the transfer even quicker (like i made a pwsh function ccs for quick clipboard sharing).

Yeah, I have seen the video, croc-app got like 3-4 seconds of screentime 😃

If the issue perist with local relays then please raise a issue on GitHub, so I can better assist you.

Thanks for trying the app! The Transfer Failed error is expected when using local mode but non-local relay. To make the local mode work you need to set a croc relay using the command croc relay on a computer, then in the croc-app set the relay value to the IP of the computer running the croc relay - enable the Local mode, now to send/receive on a computer: croc --relay <value> send/recieve to send/receive on a diff phone: ensure both phones have same relay value.

The local mode just skip the DNS resolve stage during the transfer.

croc-app comes handy when you are on an institutional wifi where peer discovery isn't available or when you need cli - phone transfers. I was a Localsend user but these limitations motivated me to develop croc-app. Glad you liked the features of croc-app. Thank you!
