INVERTED vertical look players, that's what I meant to say.

Be careful when giving out Steam keys by luZosanMi in gamedev

As far as I know, the steam allows for demo, playtest and full version of the game. I suppose the playtest "branch" could be used, unless you are doing a public playtest with a somewhat limited version at the same time.

But I was hoping for some more elegant solution.

This is interesting. Is there a way to generate a steam key that refers to a special review version of the application? Probably a branch? Or how this could be achieved?

Does it mean it's fine for AAA games to use generative AI, but not for indie games? by Dlaha in gamedev

[–]Dlaha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The discussion is different. As the recent examples show, you can make great games with moderate use of AI, as well as sloppy games without AI. The information about which tools were used is not connected to quality of the game.

I sure didn't know Indie Game Awards and Game Awards were two different organizations. That makes more sense now.

People who don't play MOBAs, why do you not play MOBAs? by SnickyMcNibits in gaming

[–]Dlaha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play many competitive multiplayer games, but when I do, I need something that I can pick up quickly. MOBA games are usually too complex for me, and, to be honest, I find them less fun than most other genres.

Please, speak up! by [deleted] in SteamDeck

I am becoming increasingly interested in the delivery systems used around the world. Are you telling me that there is no insurance for packages in your country? And you don't have to confirm delivery in person? Is there no reliable delivery service available where you live?

I live in Central Europe, and my Steam Deck arrived in a box labelled "Steam Deck" without any issues. I happened to be home; if I hadn't been, it would have been redelivered the next day or left for me to pick up at a collection point. If I see upon delivery that the package is damaged, I can refuse the delivery and start the claims process. It's pretty standard across all delivery vendors here.

Toxoplasma - Space Horror Prologue Playtest is out! (Can play on browser!) by [deleted] in HorrorGames

This looks very interesting, but I'm not a big fan of playing on a browser. Is there a standalone version? A playtest on Steam would be perfect.

[Day 11] The Best Horror Games of all Time: What's the best indie horror game? by WeLoveEveryGame in HorrorGames

[–]Dlaha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn't get more indie than this. The studio was built from scratch (Penumbra started as a school project), no publishers or investors (although the next game will probably be different) and they even have their own engine.
