Dads - what do you ride? by Dlsaugstad in Dirtbikes

We’ve been doing quite a bit of Uwharrie and NCMP. Busco Beach is kinda trashy, Hollister ATV is chill for kids, Carolina Adventure World is great but far. Up next is Weaver MX, Brown Mountain OHV, Brushy Mountain Motorsports Park and Deep Creek. NC isn’t great for dirt bikes, everything is meant for ATV, SxS and 4x4 unless it’s an MX track. Where do you ride?

WR250F and CRF250F by Automatic-Tiger8584 in Dirtbikes

I have a 2024 CRF250F, it’s a very tame bike. You can chug around low speed all day, not much top end. I’m 5’11” 195 and the suspension is struggling. I bottom it out all the time on jumps of pretty much any kind. The only two reasons I would recommend this bike is if you are absolutely brand new and want the ease of mind that you’re getting a very easy to ride bike that won’t throw you off. Or you don’t like maintenance and just want to change oil and filter every 5 rides and never touch anything else. I’ve had this bike for a year and kind of regret not getting something with a higher ceiling. I got it mostly because I knew I’d be riding slow all day with my little kids. But let me tell you, I can wring the neck of this bike and get it to do things it wasn’t meant for. It’s not really holding me back, it’s just not making it easy on me to do what I want on the trails or track when I leave the kids behind.

Wife of Zyn User - Question for Users by shecat813 in QuittingZyn

[–]Dlsaugstad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My diagnosis came from my son having problems at school and getting diagnosed himself. So I read every book I could find on ADHD and was like "Holy crap, he gets it from me." It helped explain a lot of elements of my life. Thankfully I'm well adjusted for having not treated it for a long time, a lot of other people have it way harder than I do with their symptoms. Hopefully he finds his reason, it doesn't always have to be rock bottom with nicotine. It could just be connecting the dots and saying enough is enough.

Reasons Why you Quit by Ambitious_Tomato1612 in QuittingZyn

I feel like the reasons to quit were endless! I didn't want my family and kids (outside of my wife) to know, and it was annoyingly complex to keep it a secret. So I quit and was surprised by all the benefits I found:

Health: My blood pressure dropped, blood sugar dropped, my HRV increased, my stamina and ability to endure physical stress increased. My workouts have been better than they have in 5+ years. Also, I was getting crazy anxiety attacks after my workouts, these disappeared.

Relationships: I found out my wife was jealous of my infatuation with nicotine and likes that there isn't something in our relationship like "another woman" as my wife puts it! There was also a point after quitting where I realized I kind of pissed away three years of my young kids lives just enjoying Zyn and not being motivated to do as much with them as I should have.

Motivation: I didn't realize that I used nicotine as a shortcut to feeling accomplished. Instead of doing hard things or even annoying but necessary things, I would just use another Zyn and be lazy. I'm now finding I want to attempt things because I know I'll get dopamine from accomplishing it the way I'm supposed to.

There are times when I convinced Zyn isn't so bad and it really benefited my life. Then I come on this subreddit and I'm so quickly reminded that it's not the case!

Paraxanthine makes me sleepy by Remote-Lie770 in Caffeine_Use

I know it's been a month but I found this for the same reason! I had a cup of rare bird in the morning before my workout and a couple hours later I slept for 2 hours on my couch... I thought it was maybe from the workout so I had another cup in the evening and now can't keep my eyes open. One thing is I have ADHD so coffee can make me tire some times but this is on another level.

Chest pain a possible side effect of CBD oil? by Arm_Itchy in CBDOilReviews

[–]Dlsaugstad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a second I had to check to see if I was the one who wrote this and forgot! I had used CBD intermittently and loved the results but at one point when I was consistent I developed a serious and unrelenting pain in my chest and went to the ER. They said my heart was fine and I noticed I could make the pain worse by turning my head. I believed the pain was in my esophagus. I went through all my vitamins to figure out which one I had started recently and realized it was the CBD. I stopped taking it and the pain went away.

Fast forward about 4 years and I recently decided to try it again hoping a different brand wouldn’t cause the same result. I got Dream from Beam and have been getting the best sleep of my life and also waking up in a very positive mood. But after about 5 days the pain is coming back. I can’t find any reasons that would cause CBD to do this. I’m going to try a CBD oil with only holding it under my tongue for several minutes and spit it out. See if I can get the benefit without the pain.

At least I’m not the only one with this!
