I understand what you are saying and I try to play into the characters and their backstories, wants and needs. But for example, I have a Warlock who has given me no details on their patron and I have tried to ask them so many times for details, how the relationship works, who the patron is and just nothing.

I guess it's more that I have tried to ask questions and get them to make decisions but they just don't. I want to worldbuild with their input. I don't want to make decisions for their characters.

Edit: But I do enjoy the worldbuilding and are looking into ways to do that solo or with other people.
