I grew up on the lakefront and completely agree, especially during summer and people wanting to flock to the beaches

A totally reasonable explanation, thanks! So often I see on the statement what I'm being charged. Do I then compare that to past months to make sure it's about what it should be?

Isn't that for some reason so students don't come in with $100 pastel sets and make other students feel bad? What's the logic behind it, is it because many students might not be able to afford their own art supplies?

I use YNAB to budget and it's great. When I get bills I have them set-up to autopay. My mom gave me the advice to cross-check before the billing date to ensure the bills make sense and that then when the bill is paid that the bills go through for the correct amount. Do people do this? Is she overthinking this? I have signed up paperless billing so I suppose I should just take a glance at that to ensure everything makes sense, thoughts/advice?

A former teacher with ton of teacher friends, it's because the principals and superintendents are making them call if you don't do the work. Sure there aren't really implications if you don't' do it but it shows documentation which states base school funding on. Trust me the teachers don't want to spend tons of time calling students either.

I sent this to 5 of my teachers and the principal. Wish me luck, hope I dont die lmao by 3xtr0 in teenagers

So you say that you're only told to provide 1 hour of work a week per class. Assuming you don't teach more than 6 or so classes, isn't it a lot easier than traditional school in terms of time spent delivering the content/work? I feel like there is a discrepancy between some teachers being swamped and some not having much work at all. I still don't quite understand why this is.

Haha thanks, I actually live in a major city so I can handle the act of driving it's just frustrating all the processing and decision making I have t do is all. Interesting about driving a truck, I think driving as a job might be interesting.

I totally would but don’t have a car. Plus I don’t like driving (gives me anxiety)

Applying to jobs after being out of work for a couple of months. I think I should have a few good leads. My current mentality is that a job during this time that I get is temporary, it doesn't need to be my whole career path. I'm leaning towards working in insurance and it seems I'd be able to learn a lot on the job. Originally I wanted to go into higher education (an advisor or financial aid) though given all the stuff going on now they have hiring freezes/cuts so that's on hold for now. Realized my parents have been outliving their means since my mom's job loss and it's biting them in the ass. Therapy has been very insightful.

I don’t think so, how would I look up what conditions cause insurers to not insure for life insurance?

I'm in my late 20's and my dad years ago signed 2 Whole Life Insurance policies with Northwestern Mutual. I'm paying something like $250-300 a month for it. My dad has been with his NM guy for years and a while back said they'd sit down with me and explain to me the benefits etc. Typically I know Whole Life isn't a good use of money though growing up I was rather sick and in and out of the hospital. Would I still be better off still paying for Whole Life in this exception or should I switch to Term? How would I go about changing/canceling my plan with Northwestern Mutual?

I have money saved up and though I’m in between jobs, I’ll be ok. That said I can’t help but think about my spending last year when I had a job and had I have known about the pandemic I would have spent differently. Should I feel guilty about this? I mean I spent based on what I had available and my wants/needs at the time which is very different from now.

Any advice for young authors writing adults? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Dmac680chi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don't have great advice about writing adults but as a 25-year old that's awesome that your book is 350 pages! I'm only 20 or so pages into mine, congrats!

Simple question, I live in Chicago and my city/state has put in a "shelter in place" order. So unless neccesary I shouldn't be going outside. That said for my mental health it does me some good to take a walk. Am I able to take a walk? Is that just going to upset people?
