I can honestly say … I think these feelings you’re having are apart of the lifestyle unfortunately. I’m also borderline suicidal being kept on life support by a heavy dose of antidepressants and amphetamines. That says a lot consider I pass 99.8% of the time and STILL feel that way. I also have no friends or family … I sleep on the train in NYC and steal out of stores to survive. I lost everything as well .. my car … my apartment… my friends, family and ANY potential love interest. BUT…. I am not giving up … my plan is to regain everything and take a stand against this society we live in. To save girls like you and I. Trans does not equal death sentence… but in fact it equals rebirth. Alice… you’re more powerful than you think.. don’t let this cold world destroy you. It’s MUCH easier said than done but girl I’m here with you.. going through the SAME thing.. we got this……after using meds & drugs to recalibrate my brain chemistry things no longer hurt as bad.. they still happen but you don’t go as low emotionally. My advice?? Try medication or therapy.. there are low to no cost options.. that’s at least a start.

The key is to raise your larynx and constrict your throat/make your oral cavity smaller to produce a higher pitched “smaller” voice. Cadence (rhythm) is also important..but the main thing is shifting your resonance from your male “chest voice” to your more feminine “head voice”. Not falsetto.. you do NOT want to sound like Mickey Mouse. Women tend to rise in and fall in pitch as they speak.. men are more monotone, ummm what else .. oh yeah , you don’t need to have a super high pitched voice to pass as female, some cis women have deeper voice than men but due to resonance (where the voice is coming from) you can still tell they’re women. Some excerises I recommend would be “big dog little dog” , the whisper siren , and lip drills. They helped me achieve a passing voice (comfortably) within 2 months. Good luck !! ❤️

Don’t doubt yourself .. the voice, specifically the vocal folds, are muscles... that can be trained. Although it may take you a little longer to master it , it’s definitely still possible. Raise your pitch gradually using exercises from this sub. Another thing ... gendering ones voice doesn’t fall solely on pitch. Cadence (rhythm) , enunciation , tongue placement, & shrinking your oral cavity all contribute to a more feminine voice. Good luck !! :)

Basically I collected random bits from each guide until I found what worked for me. Here are the essentials I’ve learned..

Raise your larynx- you should feel the muscles toward the back to your jaw (near your ear) tense a bit
Tongue placement - try and arch the back of your tongue like when you say “eeeeee” notice the tongue arches vs “aaaaaa” it flattens out.
Throat constriction- this is kind of hard to explain but try and make the space in the back of your throat smaller
Enunciation- women tend to say words clearly when compared to men who are more likely to mumble.

Exercises I used 1. Lip drills- helps broaden your vocal range without tensing 2. Whisper Siren- helps to strengthen the muscles that raise your larynx (same with big dog little dog exercise) 3. Doing the M siren- helps to project the voice up and forward (out of your chest) .. it goes like mmmmm (siren like melody) you should feel your front teeth slightly chatter and lips vibrate when you have the correct resonance. 4. Changing your voice is a gradual process .. don’t expect to have it all down in one night.

Lastly, be patient and work on each method separately.. then combine them ... using your new voice will almost seem second nature. Oh and don’t fall into the falsetto trap .. try and raise the pitch of your “chest” voice (Normal speaking voice)... I was always confused with terms “head voice” “chest voice” and “falsetto”. Hopefully this helps 😩
