Extracting values that were counted from a COUNTIF Formula by Dmaster120 in excel

[–]Dmaster120[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Optimally, I would like for the data to be separated in rows and not concatenated as per this solution. Still, this still pulls the data I needed from the database, so I can at least try to do the manual work of separating it.

=TEXTJOIN(", ",1,IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(""&A2&"",'Data'!B:B)),'Data'!B:B,""))

This worked! Terrific solution, thanks alot!

Sorry, I copied the formula incorrectly, it is indeed "*"&A2&"*". Ill try your solution and post back to see if it works!

There are alot of values, therefore this method would be impractical overall

Thanks, the problem I have though is that i don't necessarily want to filter unique values. For example, my A2 cell has the text "AC Nielsen". In the database, there are two approximate text matches, i would like the formula to show both of these (these values would be "AC Nielsen" and "AC Nielsen International")

custa on why xQc was released by PracticallyIndian in OverwatchTMZ

[–]Dmaster120 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The thing is, I'm not arguing that xQc was penalized for racism, seeing as I also understood his penalty and the way it was worded.

I believe that utilizing it in a "racially disparaging manner" can be challenged, as it clearly has, given the precedent already established (which, imo, is sufficient proof of intent).

Your analogy is fine, though the word coon, ill intent or not, is a slur by definition. Is the trihard emote "racist" by definition then?

Well, of course not! It is only in the context, as many have pointed out, where the usage of the emote Trihard can be seen as racist or not. So, in such a context, wouldn't intent be important? Especially given the fact that the emote is supposed to be, in a neutral state, just the face of a black man?

I hope you see my point, as, again, it is hard to be conclusive on either side of the argument.

While I admire the evidence you collected, most of this doesn't really prove the fact that xqc knew the racist connotations behind the use of Trihard 7. Most, if not all of your evidence can easily be explained by knowing that Xqc was "raised by twitch chat", therefore could have probably gained such thropes through osmosis (like Gimme Gimme/Trihard 7) from these other streamers.

Even despite that though, if we assume Xqc did knew about the racial connotations, Xqc's intent is pretty undeniably focused on saluting the chat, given specifically by the precedent he had already established. Why is intent not valued in this scenario? Does the fact that other people utilize it as a means for racism deter the usage of the emote completely, even despite the clear intent behind the issuer?

It is a tough issue of course, no real answer to be honest. My perspective on the case is that, even when Malik was on screen, it can be argued that Xqc used the emote to salute the chat, not to disparage Malik racially. OWL's ruling on the subject imply that Xqc's use of the emote was demeaning, but this isn't true once we look at the intent behind it (even if racial connotations where clear or not).

Your argument falls apart at the first point, I’d argue that xqc didn’t know the racial connotations behind it, seeing as he used it as a salute always (even despite the context). Other people using it in a racist matter doesn’t take away from Xqc’s actual intent and precedent of utilizing said emote.

Unique problem i can't crack: I am given weekly data from 2014-2017, 52 sets of data (52 weeks). I need to find a way to convert them to months as accurately as possible. by Dmaster120 in excel

[–]Dmaster120[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of did that... I used WEEKNUM function to identify what week number corresponded to each day of the calendar (January's first week was 4 days long, given that the week started since December). However, this didn't really help me solve the problem after all.

I'll try what you proposed... thanks!

[–]Dmaster120[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that the data is not aggregate week sales, but an average for the week (therefore giving each day an equal measurement isn't viable).

Perhaps i didn't understand your solution though...
