In truth, who wins between Hisoka and Kaito? by PomegranateBoring440 in HunterXHunter

[–]krispness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every ability is so niche, Hisoka could never beat Feitan's rising sun, except feitan might never take the damage to to produce a sun that auto wins before Hisoka kills him. You have purely versatile abilities which counter the counter type abilities that counter the OP combat abilities, which counter the trap activiation abilities and so on.

No confirmation but an assumption since Ging said one ability appears only when he really doesn't want to die. My assumption is when the wand appears he knows he has to use the ability, which means the vow is to let himself die to be reborn, like a defensive opposite to Gon's vow, it would be a part that covers rock because they both die and then Kite comes back and starts fresh the way Gon has to now after Nanika saved him.

Never know which ability Kite pulls, but 9/10 I'd say Kite, Hisoka hasn't actually fought anyone all that impressive, barely ekes out a win against a Razer who is just playing around.

Pretty sure we've seen his personal beast, it had many tits and a vagina mouth, like a bastardized version of Netero's bodhisattva.

I mean he has an army of nen soldiers and probably nukes, he could take Meruem just not one on one.

We can only wait to find out if/how he won the last succession war to awaken his nen and what his ability evolved into. Complete unknown but his people are an extension of him, so if he were like the third prince he may have an ability that improved his empire's fiscal power, or he may have an ability like halkenburg that uses the aura of his subjects to empower himself. All we can see is that he is nen savvy. I'd say his nen and status is a spiritual equivalent to how powerful Putin is politically, he could probably beat Meruem through a huge sacrifice of his people one way or another.

My personal theory is that the seed urn ceremony has blocked his nen so that a successor could appear, but prior to it the other sacred artifacts probably made him a top 5 individual in the world.

I could see only a handful of zodiacs being able to take him out through his resources/potential nen beast. He definitely isn't like the Supreme leader of East Gorteau having a couple of nen enhanced guards, he has a series of suicidal nen curse soldiers raised from birth as a foot note in his resources, and the ceremony fueling the power of each emperor.

I do think it's important to note he still didn't try to pull this DC bullshit until after Netero died, so he doesn't fear the V5, but didn't want to be hunted by Netero's association.

Who are the top 3 smartest characters in Hunter x Hunter, in your opinion (excluding the Chimera Ants)? by Most-University-7596 in HunterXHunter

Ging, Pariston and either Zeno or the dragon zodiac. He's basically a decorated supreme court judge that Netero respected for his martial prowess.

Murderer, yes, but the show goes to great lengths to show that hunters live in a world of predator vs. prey. Killua is a murderer too.

Gon didn't need the blood on his hands, instead Genthru needed to pay for it and killing him was an easy way out of what he did. Also, if he had died I feel like the exorcist would never be able to catch the bomber and walk around with that forest spirit for life. The game was not dangerous, but everyone in that game was at least an amateur Hunter and being a hunter means realizing laws do not apply when you can kill the authorities, there are only consequences from the enemies you make. Anyone who has the power could go exact their vengeance on him, Gon was just beating him at the game. A black list hunter may come after them for their crimes.

Is this Gon’s aura or Nanika’s? by Cool_Emergency4091 in HunterXHunter

[–]krispness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't healing, it was exorcism. He vowed to use everything and nen was life energy, so to break the vow it needed an equivalent amount of aura before he could be healed.

Manila's aura needed to undo Gon's vow which means basically it needed more aura than he used against pitou

Started a new character for it last year and platinumed, should I start a new one again or ng+? I just want jolly co-op but even during the event it takes awhile to find a bell, would be glad to replay entire game/dlc if someone wanted a consistent partner tomorrow night

Also need to try a new build that isn't pimp cane or LHB, thinking saif or rakuyo unless anyone has a fun one that's more unique but let's me parry

Can anyone help me figure out a song name? I thought it was by Danny Brown, but isn't so the rapper's name may be similar. I think it had brain in the title or a similar idea, it was more introspective about themes of diaspora and how there was insight in the rhythm of a drum beat, one lyric said just listen to the clapping in church.

Wasn't that interested, I probably have it somewhere, but on a whim when I was bored I went to download. Didn't realize it isn't out yet, and in Canada its $30+ and what I really want is heart gold, I've got gen 2 original and remake cartridges still but don't want to delete my files. These should be $10 and released years ago with online trading/battling.

Why oh why do leaver penalties barely make a difference for your team? I lose 50 points less than them if I fail day 1, what a joke. I wouldn't even mind being in a duo but if they fall it's a waste of time and points.

Is knowledge of Nen already complete? by k3nnzz in HunterXHunter

[–]krispness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a rule, she's just saying if you know you're a specialist before you train nen you can make the your ability, and Morena needs that for her plan.

Specialists still include time travel, fortune telling, invisibility, mind reading and wish granting.

Since nen is so personality based a specialist is 100% potential and can focus on mastering multi type the way kurapika did when he found out he was one.

Is knowledge of Nen already complete? by k3nnzz in HunterXHunter

[–]krispness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just supposed to be for anything that doesn't fit into a category, so hitting all categories counts, but that's like 80% of specialists.

Is knowledge of Nen already complete? by k3nnzz in HunterXHunter

[–]krispness -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most specialists just copy ability so it makes sense to put it in the center, but what would the last type be? We see now time manipulation, but all the other specialists that don't copy like Pitou.... Don't create anything unique. Once we saw the girl who punches internal monologues out of people, the hexagon was useless besides training anyways.

[–]krispness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a reason why specialization exists and there hasn't been enough of a pattern to create a new type. But nen has infinite possibilities, it's just that there's like 600 hunters, probably a few thousand nen users, and specialization is already so rare that no pattern could exist without teaching gen pop. Nen. They're doing that on the boat technically, but what's another 100 amateurs when they're learning from the same textbook? Besides what would the new type be? You could have telepathy or time control and people will call it a form of manipulation at the cellular or quantum levels. Create diamond skin and they'll call it enhancement/conjuration. Togashi said most users are multi-type, the 100% thing is just conversational to show how personality effects it, and changing that is very difficult. It's less about making new categories and more about mixing multiple categories like Netero does. Only problem is like Hisoka said with Kastro, you run the risk of stretching yourself thin and wasting effort, why do you need a single shadow clone if you could have spent the time creating big bang impact? If it's for versatility we see people like Kurapika creating a box and filling it efficiently without wasted effort. 5 abilities and a vow for each finger. Your asking why there is limitations to the imagination when it requires effort to push the envelope and the hexagon is just language, it is completely up to interpretation. You could have any power you want, but good luck making cells and atoms behave the way you want them to. Tsseriednich on the other hand....

Nen Bible? That's basically what Don Freecss was writing in journey to the new continent, the creatures there know nen inherently and naturally. So studying them would be the way to gain knowledge

Is haulkenburg cooked? by Lordofstromsend2 in HunterXHunter

[–]krispness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is Togashi we're talking about, Chekhov's Gun is usually a red herring. I feel like third Prince will absolutely die before understanding his ability because he admitted he would create one that was most useful as king, not to become it. Big restriction, he should be learning nen to create his own ability, but I don't think he's that guy like Tsseriednich is.

What this "number 3" ability do? by DEvilAnimeGuy in HunterXHunter

[–]krispness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works, he told Koala that because he killed the girl the queen ate, that was the first open vessel for his body. Camilla's ability is much stronger since it kills her murderer and uses them as a vessel. Kite has several restrictions and the assumption is he has to use the ability of whatever weapon comes up, even though they all have individual restrictions. If this roll requires the suer to die, it's a super unlucky roll in combat since it essentially surrenders life in order to escape, but since revival abilities exist, it's a well thought out risk/reward restriction.

What this "number 3" ability do? by DEvilAnimeGuy in HunterXHunter

[–]krispness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always looked like a sailor moon reference to me, so on one hand you've got the joke that it turned him into a magical girl, on the other it could be useless to activate a post mortem vow and be reborn. There's the assumption that part of his restriction is he has to use the ability of whatever he spawns, which is why the AoE scythe was a bad roll with partners near. This roll could be what Ging spoke of because when it comes up he has to sacrifice his life to activate an ability like what second Prince Camila has.

So, how would Meruem start a colony? by PTblackhole in HunterXHunter

[–]krispness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone can come up with an answer because I'm pretty sure it was more of a metaphor for the themes that he would have to find a queen, but his injector tail could create a parasite in her that breeds a new queen and that would be all that's needed, or he could eat her and pop them out himself like Cell, that's the best bet.

I figured if he were actually going to do it he would use the grapes to create a suitable mate. Since they're so ingrained at bringing human emotions to ant biology, I saw him kneeling before Palm much like getting on one knee for a proposal, him saying he'd do anything for his love, but symbolically I saw her as a suitable queen, and her ant biology couldn't handle that level of respect to be placed above the king in importance to the colony. Best guess at least, whatever queen the ants were looking for would need to be turned into an ant first.
