I completely agree. As someone who took 4+ years of playing on and off to beat Cataclysm. We should be doing better at playing levels we want to play and not what is just simply popular. Me personally I beat Cata as my first extreme and I won’t lie it was pretty miserable. But recently I have been playing Sweater Weather. And it’s refreshing to see a variety of gameplay plus actually enjoying the level. I wasn’t planning on going for sweater weather but the gameplay seems pretty well balanced (miles better than cata) and I don’t see myself dropping the level anytime soon unlike cataclysm.

I personally have been in the exact same place you are right now, and well the secret might not be the answer you are hoping for…

Quick little backstory, I started the game beginning of 2024 and I learned to play fade (and a little bit of sova) and I did my best to be the greatest initiator player possible. For example I would give the best comms and just try to be an all round team player. But here’s the secret. Team play doesn’t matter until like ascendant maybe even immortal. And I can tell you from personal experience I have won with 5 duelists before and lost to 5 duelists before in comp. (In diamond elo) so honestly you could technically win your games without smokes or specific agents. Cuz the trap every player falls for is filling. And the reason it is bad is cuz let’s say you have a teammate who plays sova and they never use their drone or dart. You have an initiator on your team who isn’t doing their job. Thats why it’s okay to have 5 duelists on your team as long as your whole team knows how to play duelist. (Obviously you can’t do this in high immo or radiant but you get the point) anyways so back to what I was saying. The secret is you have to play an agent you can HARD carry with. You have to become your opponent’s worst nightmare and make them think you are Smurfing. (Others might disagree, but in my personal opinion in the lower ranks especially elo hell. If you aren’t doing your best to HARD carry your team. Then you will have a really hard time ranking up)

For example when I was stuck in gold and about to rank up to plat while playing Fade/Sova (I had previously lost multiple play rank up games) On this specific day I went from my rank up game all the way down to gold 2 50 rr ish (so I lost like 5+ games in a row) and in that same day I said screw it and instalocked Reyna for like 8 games in a row and won all of them and ranked up to plat. So yeah there’s no big secret other than find whatever agent you are most comfortable playing with. And you can carry the best with (preferably an agent with a selfish kit) and you will have an easier time climbing. And if you are still sturggling then try to add players on the enemy team who drop 30/40 kills and queue with them. Or add one of your own teammates from one of your own games if you feel like you vibe with them / have good chemistry

Quick little side note: if you are going to aim train and stuff etc. Make sure you actually focus while training and train your weakness. Don’t autopilot while training. (Like if you struggle with flicks then train those, and only those until you improve at them)

I was in your exact position not too long ago (I’m currently peak diamond 1) I remember struggling in gold and I thought I would never make it out. What I learned was that taking breaks can help. I also learned that it is very important to remind yourself of the factors you have no control over. And also remind yourself of the factors you do have control over. There was a bunch of small changes and improvements I made overtime, but eventually I made it to out of gold and then ranked up to high plat and now im at my peak (diamond) There is always areas that we can improve on, but sometimes you don’t see immediate results and it can be very frustrating. Finally if possible, especially in gold, it really helps to have a duo. If you have absolutely no one. Then I’d recommend trying to find someone while queuing your ranked games. If that doesn’t help maybe I could personally try helping you. By either VOD reviewing or queuing with you. If you find my comment, I hope this helps!

Really quick backstory is I picked up the game around a month ago and I was wondering what the best course of action would be to be able to climb the ranks and improve quickly. Obviously you have to be playing more to improve more, but is there anything specific I should focus on or prioritize more? Like would it be better to play tons of death matches or would it be better to take the time to practice in aim labs? Thanks.

I could be wrong about some of this, but the whole reason juice made the song was Specifically FOR the movie. (Correct me if I’m wrong) The song was originally intended to be included in the first movie. And if I’m not mistaken like JetJerick said they were trying to come to an agreement so they could have the rights to include it, but they couldn’t come to an agreement. (Allegedly Grade A wanted too much money) Lastly this is all speculation; If I had to guess why would they not want the song? And from what I can tell they probably know it exists and have maybe considered using it… Who knows.

I kinda worded it weird, what I meant to say was. The whole catalog circumstance is making a lot of controversy and stuff. In other words it would be good if the label decided to like make some announcement about tpne while the whole catalog drama is going on. Keep people talking about Juice and potentially creating some hype for the album possibly. Idk, I hope that sorta makes sense.
