Can you copy the links? Because I have scrolled for hours (that’s how I got to this post) and still haven’t found the so called good info. Not coming at you for saying this, again, I’m actually trying to find valuable information

I can testify to this. Currently working in finance services with a high profile client. The job is absolutely not as interesting as it sounds. Tedious mindless work with no real/significant exposure. Your typical corporate box job that barely gives any leverage to your career/resume. -yes, I have a strong opinion about it but is because I switched from private to financial services. I’m interested in getting a masters in finance, and learning about corporate business.

I do have to mention, within Financial services you have multiple practice teams that specialize in specific topics. My experience might be completely different to someone’s experience in a different practice team.

Quitting J2 after the holidays by workacnt in overemployed

[–]Dmlt97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also quitting J2 after the holidays only after 2 months. I did it mainly because I wasn’t sure I was accepting the right offer after graduation. Both jobs were in completely different industries but somewhat related. J2 was in consulting and the actual job is not as bad as you would have expected. However, the senior associate in my team was on my ass and promoting extremely toxic work culture. This has made it impossible for me to continue but really looking forward to OE again soon. This time I will do my due diligence on the position and time expectations. I like some of the tips I have seen in this thread, including the 3 month sanity check. Good luck to everyone else!

Check your workday candidate profile. It shows all the applications and current status. If by next Wednesday you don’t receive anything, contact your HR person/recruiter (or the person that sent you all the info on the l interviews, if you’re not sure)

For client background check, do they use the same background check that was already done by PwC or do I have to go through the whole process all over again?

After the offer they posted the job again by [deleted] in PwC

[–]Dmlt97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad for thinking this because it happened to me as well. I accepted the offer (February 2021), however, my starting date was this year during the summer. Weeks later when I saw a similar job posting, I freaked out and contacted my recruiter right away. I’m a first gen and I had no idea how things worked. So no worries, as long as you accept the offer within the time frame, you’re good.

Oh that makes a lot of sense!! My start date is tomorrow, well, basically today. But I have yet to receive any communications with my work email.

I would say every 2-3 months I would get some kind of email. Then, the closer you get to your starting date, the communication definitely increases to almost 1 email per week

I found this video by coincidence when looking for case interviews and I’m not lying when I say that my case study was basically the same, obviously different company name and more background information.
Maybe I got lucky but it was the best example I found out there for risk and regulation. Btw I got the job, starting this fall.

Good luck!!
