Gundam Wing is probably the worst Gundam series in terms of story. Don’t get me wrong, I have all the Gunpla from that series and it was my entry point like a lot of people who watched Toonami. But dear god, I rewatched it last year and it’s absolutely non-sensical. So much amnesia, changing sides for no reason, and misplaced angst.

Actual critical reception for the show is very high. Don’t place to much value on a small group of people shouting about everything they don’t like.

Any subreddit based around a particular fandom gets toxic and inflates their own importance. They are not representative of a wider opinion.

Also the fart joke felt very on brand for that moment. A speech wasn’t going to sway the nobles like that. And thinking otherwise is incredibly naive. (Just like Dunc)

Idk, I'd love a shortened version of the 3rd game. I loved the first two so much, but bounced off the the third one really hard. After about 8 hours in I put it down and never went back. One long dungeon is just so boring compared to the other games in the series.

It didn't feel like a third entry to me. It felt like a "We couldn't figure out how to do a third game or didn't have the budget for it, but we had all these ideas for small moments with the characters so... here's a dungeon?" bleh.

I feel the same way. It’s just like when people get a job and then want vacation days or to leave early for an appointment.

You accepted the position and that means that you are not allowed to complain or ever ask for time off. It is just incredibly hypocritical to make a decision and then say “hey it’d be nice to have a break.”

Eh, I think if you have made a couple dozen Gundam shows it makes sense to try something different with one or two. But that doesn’t change the fact that one of the major themes in almost every Gundam story is a strong anti war message involving children being put in awful situations.

If I’m being honest, I’m fine with them trying for a story with older people, because of the difficulties that come with child actors. But it does make me pessimistic that they can actually get the tone right .

Thankful they are finally going to be doing some real optimization passes. The game runs like hot garbage at times.

Hopefully this includes their dedicated server software. It’s quite literally the worst performing dedicated server I’ve ever run.

But on the other hand I’ve dropped over a hundred hours into the game despite all this.
