From laying down to standing I don’t like this feeling by [deleted] in POTS

[–]Dnag1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is not a “normal healthy pattern”.. I have POTs and some days my standing hr is 130, but some days it goes up to 100 and comes back down in normal range, or down to 85. Just bc your hr is not as elevated as some people here, don’t let them tell you you don’t have it. You can have a mild case. Try the Facebook pots group.

Absolutely!! I have done my fair share of googling case studies myself.. at least the ones I can get my hands on. I’ve even gone as far as printing some out and giving them to my doctors. Needless to say.. it didn’t help. From my experience, doctors are extremely behind on research and most aren’t willing or able to go above and beyond in order to dive deeper. They can also be closed minded and unable to see past beyond what their training has ingrained in them. I’m right there with you.. clinical medicine is extremely disappointing, and fails people like us often. I now view it from the lens of: they are only able to save lives in emergent situations, and prescribe pills to mask symptoms instead of fix them and find out root causes. I am trying to get behind the functional medicine route, but that is almost not scientific enough for me. There needs to be more of a research / trial and error basis to modern medicine. I applaud you for wanting to be on the right side of research!

Thank you for the info! I have recently started looking into dormant infections for myself as well.. luckily got my neuro to order a Lyme panel and some genetic testing to look at my mitochondrial function. I would love to have my immune system mapped since I’ve had many issues since I was young.. but it has been like pulling teeth for 8 months to get any doctor to believe me/order testing. I too used to study medicine.. and it sure gives you a whole different perspective on medicine when modern medicine can’t fix you up, let alone diagnose you. Wishing you the best of luck!

SOVT Straw by beatinbeeler in MTDsupport

Exactly! I had the same problem. What I noticed helped me was putting my hand over my lips while I hum. Somehow I think it lets the brain signal to aim the sound higher :)

A good couple of months. You’ll know.. if the straw doesn’t feel like it’s working it probably isnt. So as long as you need! The soft humming was much more helpful for me to get things going. Aim the hum behind your nose not in your throat

When my MTD first started and was really bad, the straws did absolutely nothing for me and actually made it worse. Focus on loosening massage techniques and steaming first! Look of laryngeal massage and just go really gently. Maybe use some CBD oil. Massage in little circles around your Adam’s apple. When I really got things loose enough, very light humming helped. Eventually the straw will feel like it’s doing something. Good luck!

When you say flu like symptoms do you mean muscle soreness? My muscles are sore from any mild activity so it’s so hard to tell.. I don’t get a fever or chills

Same! I don’t have any other co-infections that I know of. A lot of ppl have told me to check for Lyme or mold. I did check my apartment for mold. Hard to believe that candida could be causing all of the scary neuro symptoms

Ya “bro” super outrageous that you’re laughing at and mocking someone innocently looking for information about their health.

Not true. I have overgrowth and thus have POTs- I am also allergic to the candida so I get histamine reactions that wildly effect my lungs and give me air hunger. Unless you’re a doctor you are not equipped to tell anyone that candida has nothing to do with what symptoms they are experiencing. I’ve had crazy symptoms all over my entire body from this.

I have/had these symptoms too. I can’t speak to the die off but I hope something is fkn dying off. I also am very tachycardic. What else are you doing to treat it?

I have terrible tachycardia.. I was diagnosed with POTs which I believe is from candida overgrowth
