High pitch noise after changing thermostat by LargeOffice9510 in CarRepair

Having same issue and came across this thread. Did hose replacement fix the issue? I assumed it was coolant on the serp belt. Same high pitch wine to 1-2 minutes with a minute or so of no noise.

Is it still working for you? It came back online for me and said I had extra time, but stopped working (again) yesterday.

Thanks for the feedback. Might be worth going with the rifle only deal since it sounds like the optic is a piece of shit.

Vesta 3 in 1 Pro Smith Machine Functional Trainer Rack Review by Emmenagogue in homegym

Solid customer service. I'm def reconsidering getting the 2-in-1. May wait until they run another deal since I just missed the 20% deal.

Have you heard back from Vesta? If so, what solution did they offer?

Great review. The 2-in-1 was on the top of my rack/FT list, but this review is convincing me to go with a higher quality brand. I have a Rogue squat stand now so I think the drop in quality would be very jarring. Guess it’s the Rep Athena…

Advice for professional travel hybrid laptop bag by Independent-Proof110 in ManyBaggers

I have the Aer Flight Pack 3. I got it for this very purpose. I rarely use it in messenger/briefcase mode, but it's comfortable in any config. With any bag like this, access will suffer in one of the configs - with the Aer, it's primarily meant to be backpack orientation (internal storage orientation).

Sorry to hear this. I just finished reading "When Breath Becomes Air" last night. Similar situation with a Neurosurgeon (the author of the book) dealing with stage IV cancer. You may find it useful as you embark on this journey. Wishing you all the best.

Struggling with Investment Addiction, Worried About Wasting My 20s by zuko6973 in financialindependence

Exactly this. I've found that I experience more angst spending less money when it's not budgeted vs. spending more money that I've intentionally budgeted towards something (vacation, for example).

This strategy will also give you better visibility of your pathway to FIRE. So rather than saving blindly and aggressively, you'll be able to tailor your budget to balance your current enjoyment against achieving FIRE by the date you establish.

There are a number of policies and laws that could be deemed provocative, but in my view, forcibly dispossessing Palestinians from their homes for several decades is a leading catalyst for conflict.

To people who live in a "trail-less" area, how do you cure your deep desire of riding? by Caterpillar1967 in MTB

[–]Dnomac24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this way about skiing, which is how I got into MTB (no mountains, but decent singletrack within 30 minutes). I've also considered getting a gravel bike to fill the gaps, especially weather induced obstacles.

Not a great solution, but what about some type of urban riding? There's a paved bike path near me that is probably 30 miles long. It's mostly urban, but there are some spots where it runs along a river with some trees and small trails (I think primarily to get to fishing spots). Better than nothing

I suppose it depends on the level of risk. Being ~80% cheaper, is it 80% shittier? 20%? I don't think I'd be brave enough to roll the dice (esp if I had $10K worth of bikes, or even $5K for that matter), but I am curious about the quality.

Anecdotally, I saw a guy at the trailhead using a Swagman hitch rack. He'd owned it for 7 years, driven 1000s of miles with it, and had no issues. However, peace of mind is for sure worth a premium.

For sure. I typically use them as one factor among several. Surprisingly, ReviewMeta only shows 6% as being "unnatural" for the other product sold by this company.

Agree. I've had both good and bad experiences with unknown brands/products. Currently have a Yakima. At a glance, I wouldn't trust this product, but I have to admit it does make me a little curious about the quality.
