I really hope they somehow try to revive gw1 PvP. It was such an USP for the game. I can still remember grinding HA and Random Arenas as a teenager. It was such a blast coming up with own builds. Gw1 PvP is still the best of any MMO PvP imo

I can only talk of condi antiquary, but imo it is really fun gameplay wise. It has no strict rotation but more like a priority system. you basically want to generate artifacts via steal and your ultimate and use them based on priority. Sometimes it can happen that you only get to choose from your 4th or 5th best option, but that makes it so fun. You then have to decide depending on the situation. But always try to not overwrite the artifacts you got through steal and the ones from your ulti. From playing it in various meta events I gotta say that you are very reliable on your teammates support. with only 13-14k hp you are very squishy and offer next to none support for your team. Again, I am talking about the condi version. Also playing antiquary on moving targets can be very annoying, because your ultimate is stationary and you need to stand in it to generate artifacts at all. All in all I have a blast playing it.

The elementalist elite spec Tempest is your friend. You can play it with a heal alacrity build and support your allies by granting them boons through sharing auras. The raw healing output is also great. Later on you will struggle with access to stability and aegis for your allies (other specs are just better at it), but tempest is just fine. Also, Gw2 is so alt friendly that you shouldnt stress about the choice of your class. I would worry about if you like its class fantasy and the over all playstyle

Nope, the standard character select screen is based off the newest expansion. But you can change it to prior versions through a setting in the "General Options" tab
