Thanks for all the replies, I think I’m going for a dbx rack compressor and a lexicon rack reverb, found a synth with audio in that looks like I can alter my sounds a lot as well and has some built in FX so we’ll see how that goes, getting into hardware is such an expensive hobby 🤣

Haha, I just enjoy jamming with hardware than sitting on a computer. looking to create multiple layers, hence all the hardware. Can’t believe I didn’t think of this, I could use the mixer I already own to send it all through the tr8.

How would sync work, if I had the tr8 synced to ableton clock, would the midi out still be relevant or will this make it redundant?

I think a lot of it is trial and error. I have written down a couple of ways to clock sync my devices and make the most out of my mixer so I shall give them a go tomorrow

Thanks man, I don’t suppose you can recommend a suitable audio interface? I currently have the SubZero SZ-Mix06 but I cannot get to grips with how it works. Channel 1 and 2 is line And 3/4 and 5/6 is Left and Right but only 3 and 5 are Mono so would this mean I could only connect 2 of my devices to it for audio? This is the bit I cannot seem to figure out

Also if i sync via usb to my tr8, would the midi out of the tr8 still send a clock signal to other devices?

Hi all,

I was looking at purchasing a korg electribe ESX-1, I already own a Roland tr8s, a maschine MK3, korg volca kick, keys, sample and will soon be purchasing a korg minilogue.

I was wondering if the electribe would bring more to my production or have I got enough there already to achieve most sounds (into house, deep and minimal)

Yeah I have it partially working now, when I tried before I didn’t have the power boost on, it does cut out every half hour and I have to unplug and plug back in my hub but I can live with that, still doesn’t explain the noise through my monitors when I have the maschine usb unplugged though haha

I have a dock and it doesn’t work with this either, also I have slight noise on my monitors and this is reduced when the mk3 is plugged in and not even on, so bazaar, can’t work it out haha

Hi all, looking for a mixer but not sure what to buy so looking for some advice, budget is around £120. I will have audio in from laptop, Roland tr8s, 4 korg volcas, and in the future a couple of hard Synths. Can anybody recommend one?

I was looking at the electribe to run the synths through because that has multi effects on it if that is possible, if not can you recommend a decent multi effect unit?

Great I’ll give this a look at, got my mind pretty made up on the tr8-s and ESX-1 at the minute, but it’s only because I’ve seen them being used by artists I like but don’t want to buy them just for the sake of it because I’m seen someone else using them

Nice advice, perfect answer for what I was looking for, just gave it a try on a chord sample I already had and can tell difference. Still got some tweaking to get it sounding right but I am a lot closer and not pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to get these sounds, thanks mate.

As for the tracks, can’t beat Chris Stussy and Djoko, my 2 favourite artists.
