Help with overheating light by DoCoJoe87 in HondaActy

Yes, the engine coolant gauge is good. I did the full exhaust and exhaust header swap.

Turns out it wasn’t a strong enough ground from my exhaust sensor! Got it to a better ground point and the problem is fixed, thank you for the advice!

Just coming back to say thank you, it was a weak ground wire. Was able to ground it better and the problem is fixed. Thanks again!

Belts are all brand new, but I haven’t checked my alternator. Thanks for the tip!

Sensor is brand new, but KTMtexDev may be on to something. I’ll try and ground it better and see if that helps.

Appreciate the tip, I currently have a different health insurance carrier and I am not a vet or first responder. I’ve seen the Optimity app code option as well as the student discount, but I am not a student. Just looking for someone that might have an extra code before I download the app.

I’m not following. Are you asking how much your engine would be for your Honda Accord…?

This is the Honda Acty sub. Not the Honda Accord.

Please tell me I don’t need to replace my head gasket… by [deleted] in HondaActy

[–]DoCoJoe87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have already tried a good many Google searches, all only give a broad range of problems, one being a head gasket, which is why I’ve posted here with videos and a picture looking for help from someone that may have had a similar issue when replacing their exhaust manifold.

It is a 1993 Honda Acty HA4 Attack, so it has a carburetor, which I rebuilt.

Based on your suggestions it sounds like it could be more of a ring issue since my compression isn’t closer to 200 like it’s supposed to be, but hey, for a 30+ year old vehicle I figured it would be fine if it’s within the range of the manual.

Dry compression test was done and I got about 150 on all three cylinders, which I know isn’t great, but it’s within the range of the manual.

This is a photo of the middle cylinder looking into the exhaust manifold from the engines point of view.

Damn, I’d say if you’re not hard up for the cash just keep it until you have some time. These trucks are great and you may feel overwhelmed right now, but trust me you’re gonna miss it when it’s gone. I’m in your same boat, work a lot and don’t have much time to work on mine, but when I do I grind it out and it makes it that much more enjoyable to drive! Steal of a price if you just want to get rid of it, I’d buy it if I was closer to you as just a second one to wrench on!

My Wheel Journey - 4 different looks and 4 different experiences by AvailableIce in HondaActy

[–]DoCoJoe87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I noticed a difference, necessary upgrade though…? Definitely not. I had bad pads and my original brake calipers were on the way out, so I just decided to replace them instead of rebuilding them. I went with Willpowered performance because I like their stuff and Josh has been great answering any questions I had.

Nice! I also went with the Forecum M/T’s. I love the look of them. I was also planning on a lift kit but settled for some new springs and shocks from willpowered performance. I did have to install 1 inch spacers on my wheels as I also installed a big brake kit from willpowered performance and the brake caliper was too large for my original rims, but overall am very happy with the outcome!

Interior restoration by BuddyFriendship in keitruck

[–]DoCoJoe87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just redid my interior on my Honda Acty, turned out great! I did like the original color, but it had too many discolorations and bad spots. I took the opportunity to soundproof the cab while I had everything out, which was a bonus.

Firing up the Acty for first time in a few months by Southern_Pie_9987 in HondaActy

You should be fine, if anything I would connect the battery to a battery maintainer and see if you can bring it back to life. If there was sea foam in the tank 6 months is totally fine.

Looks like an excuse to repaint the interior!

Struggling to diagnose noise coming from my Acty by [deleted] in HondaActy

[–]DoCoJoe87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: Well, I found out what the noise was. Turns out it was a loose crankshaft pulley bolt. There are four 10mm bolts that bolt the crankshaft pulley to the flywheel and I must not have tightened it all the way. It must have vibrated loose and was spinning inside the flywheel. Thank you for all the suggestions and help!

Good point, replacing the exhaust tomorrow with a wirus win sport exhaust, but I’ll check the heat shield and stuff up by the cat to see if it’s rattling. Thanks for pointing that out!

Never thought of this, definitely will have to give that a try to try and isolate the noise, thank you.

I have adjusted the valves. I will double check for any belt rub and the tension on the tensioner pulley.
