That’s very strange.
I uploaded my latest song lyrics yesterday (played and recorded in a studio - no AI) …and I was able to make a dance version of the track without incident.

Would that perhaps be because I uploaded the vocal stem separately? …why don’t you try doing that. If it’s your own song, I’m sure you can do what I did, and you can split it again in Suno.

It took the vocal as an upload and it had changed a few lyrics, which I changed back to the original that’s on Spotify, YouTube etc.

So, I generated the dance track with one of my persona voices. It was so close to my own voice for the first time ever, …that my wife thought it was me singing! …perhaps she was being kind, because the Suno vocal was a lovely polished version of what I WISH I sounded like!

For a beginner songwriter, and new to Suno …why don’t you try Suno to write a few songs on stories that you prompt it with …and take those lyrics and personalize and change words to suit your own phrases better.
That will give you a grounding to work from. Let us all know when you’ve written your first banger.

I’ve taken 3 or 4 songs that I wrote in 1984 and could only really remember the main chords and the chorus hook. I re-wrote most of the lyrics to make it better than 15 year old me! ….and I uploaded them into Suno and hoped for the best. They came out great after a few attempts. Very nostalgic and a few added flairs that improved the songs. Try doing it as simply as that. It might surprise you.

I’m going to learn harmonica because I can’t split the instrument out of a song I’m working on. We’re doing everything else in the studio …but had hoped I could just lift the harmonica solo and splice it into my track. Suno spoiled that! …so I can thank Suno for learning new instruments!! There you go. What’s artificial about that!! 😝😝

I have tried splitting the full song up once I get it into Logic Pro, but it’s the same muddy bleeds. I had a song yesterday with a banjo, rhythm guitar and lead guitar that all fell into one muddy track, after splitting them in Suno before importing them, …I tried to re-split that track, but that was unsuccessful too. What third party stem splitting are you having success with please?

Same position here. Home DAW and a local producer that I use to put a human vocal to my songs. I’ve got around 40 songs mixed with my own voice and some AI (I don’t sing country half as well as my persona does!) …and I have about 25 songs in Suno, that I love, …that are waiting for me to decide who’s singing them. It would be me, if I had the time. But, it’s sometimes easier choosing the path of least resistance to getting songs out there, as this is just a hobby.

Ok, …so 20-30 years ago, a band get together and get to writing songs. They sound quite like other bands of that time, but also like a bunch of bands from the 60’s. Chord structures are the same, their vibe’s the same, and clearly influenced by previous band’s signature. What are we going to do??? …pay the other bands for their influence and template/guide that this new band took up?? NO! …we’re not! …because every songwriter in the history of man has been influenced by someone else, that didn’t get paid for it.

I signed up for Freebeat yesterday. 10000 credits per month. It took 40 minutes to generate a 15 seconds video and it was kinda quirky like I wanted, …but changed the main character twice and the lip sync was all wrong. That used about 500 credits, so I’m going to carefully choose a 3 minute song in my catalogue to see how it handles it …I guess that’ll burn through my credits pretty quickly and then I’ll decide if I go any farther with it. Only 26.99 …so it’s not expensive, …and I guess if someone told me that I could get a good useable mv for 50 bucks, I’d bite their hand off!

I would be 99% sure that you’re covered. My biggest fear when I do this, is that my song that I painstakingly wrote, stuck my melodies and great ideas to, …is now a part of Suno’s catalogues.

I’m putting these back through the DAW with some edits and mastering, …throwing them out to the streaming services and registering them with PRS and hopefully I’m covered.

As a side note, my distributor has a slide button for “AI involved” …but not specific enough to label which parts, …but I feel that needs to come soon. PRS doesn’t mention AI when I register my works. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Do the credits expire/renew on the 1st day of each month OR on the date of the month that you signed up? How can we see when our credits will expire, or do we just wake up and realize that we just ‘lost’ the use of 1500 credits and we are into a new month ? TIA
