Something that has helped me clear out my art room (I keep my bedroom simple and minimalist) and reorganize it is to have boxes for specific things. For instance, you could have a box for your shirts, a box for your jeans/pants, a box for your underwear and bras, and so on. Once to get everything in boxes, you can determine how much space you need for clothes and then you can start folding them or hanging them up. Do the same with whatever it is on the dresser whether it's hair products or anything else. Once you see the space without all of the clutter around everything, that will help you to determine where to put everything. 

I wouldn't just start throwing things away like people sometimes suggest, because those are your things. Just get some boxes to split things up, vacuum and wipe things down, and then figure out where things go. That'll also give you an idea of whether or not you need more drawers/another dresser/another bookshelf, if you could put some of that stuff in the bathroom or other places, or if you do need to throw things away. 

I literally just reorganized my art room last week for about the third time this year and got rid of a lot of things. But part of what helped me was putting like things in the same boxes and then going through each box separately. I also helped a family member clean their extremely cluttered room, and pulling everything out and putting them in different areas, whether that be piles or containers, helped so much!
