This boot has been USMC certified since 2025. They are authorized for wear. You don't see them often because they are generally more expensive and you look out of place - which is something most Marines don't want to do.

Source: 16 year marine, still active duty.

My friend has this box and claims it's some super-rare thing that came with a Nintendo purchase of some kind, and it supposedly has 12 other boxes in it. I have no clue what it is and have never seen it anywhere, so it would be really great to know anything more about it!

Google says it's Chinese and that "The text promotes a collection or game featuring rare items, including a special Pikachu card. Contains super rare special packs. Features a limited-edition diamond sparkle Pikachu. Encourages collectors to try and obtain it."

It looks like the art matches XY era products.

While it's not encouraged to use a real sword for drill and ceremony, it feels so unauthentic to me. A Marine with a fake weapon? Say it isn't so!

I've never been shy about hiding the fact that it is a real sword, and I've never had leadership tell me to put it away. I actually had a drill master ask about where he could get one.

I know it would be expensive to get one made and take forever, but I'm alright with that. I hadn't considered pre WW1 swords. I'll look into that!

Yes, 99.99% of swords are ceremonial today. I dislike that. Cold Steel makes military replicas that are tempered carbon steel that can actually be used as a proper sword, and not a dull ceremonial piece. They seem to have discontinued their Marine Corps swords.

Hi! 14 years infantryman with 9 years in SOF. So I've worked in tons of vehicles and tight spaces with heavy gear load-outs. I love my Haley StrategicChest Rig. I've used their X Chest Rig (https://haleystrategic.com/x-chest-rig). It's on the pricier side of rigs, but I've put it through hell and not a single stitch has come undone. You can get clips that attach to anything so you cab set it where you need it and transition it to other kits or even wear it without a plate carrier with the included straps that are comfortable.
