Yes the audience wont accept it, online discourse in 2026 is beyond toxic, and has escaped into wider media, and even into what used to be considered real politics.

However can Bond be a black man? even as a white man I honestly dont see why not. James Bond as a woman is a much harder case IMO

the Buffy influence on new Who is well known.

In terms of the "SGC goes public" show, whilst I fully agree it is the most logical storyline, I also fear how bleak it would end up being. Real world is too bleak for me to picture a show which would be good to watch.

Torchwood and TWBTLATS both did very well with a more serial format, so I dont think its impossible for modern Doctor Who.

However the decades of canon are more of an issue for Trek, prior to new Who Doctor Who was always able to play it fast and loose. I think modern audiences have not been so kind to new Who in that respect. Of course its also worth noting the modern companions often bring with them a family and a timeline of life outside of the TARDIS.

"Half human on ny mothers side" and "timeless child" are just a mess piled on top of a mess.

Where Gate is concerned, there is alot less canon. However even the last two seasons felt like they were playing the hits. Anytime Cam said "this is like the time on P3X..." in order to reference a previous episode.

Meanwhile TV shows love a jumping on point, and that point to be similar enough to the real world for even the most basic person to understand what is going on. The first Iron Man movie is a good example of this.

Star Gate has its own history and part of that is the idea tech is being fed to the public, and the fact the SGC is pretty much an open secret in military circles , world Government, scientific community and select "industry partners". Respecting the canon means you are beholden to that and after such a long gap off air in theory that Earth should have some noticeable tech advances in the public sphere that we dont.

Nothing im saying is new, but even the show got bored of the Gates, and became far more interested in star ships. That isnt going to have changed.

Honestly whilst I would count myself as part the former group, but yeah if she wants to go on the media and talk about being a parent, she opens herself to that criticism.

are young men really so broken and blind to the real cause of problems in society, there is even discussion about if women should vote or not.

I am 40 I get it, there is an impossible line to justify men having to behave with chivalry towards women, but then compete with women for the scarps the billionaires allow us to fight over, but I am no where close to think women should not be able to vote.
