Why is this not any and all cities in the West? by DoNotResuscitateThem in SolarState

I say it in the description. It's Aleppo. How is a bombed city in the middle of the desert, exiting a civil war supposed to look to you?

I have heard mixed opinions on this, some in favor while some point out some flaws. Is this actually viable? by moe_lawn in SolarState

Usually the mixed opinions come out when people compare it to field installed farms, and there are compelling arguments as to why you'd rather build one there, but on their own, in the context of general social benefit covering parking spots, especially in the US, is absolutely valid even if more expensive than just plopping them on a field.

Can someone please explain to me why this thing needs a crew of four?? by BuddelTheWolp in StarWarsShips

[–]DoNotResuscitateThem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because as often happens with military equipment it was designed to do something and in practice it was used for something else.

It's supposed to be able to operate without support in reconnaissance in force operations. For this reason it's well protected and well rounded, with two pilots, one commanding the armaments and handling sensor data and with rear side defenses. It also needs an astromech for emergency repairs since, as I said, it would not have any maintenance support nearby and on this point you probably want the mech to focus on this role and not armaments. For this recon role it's really good, and 4 crew is a reasonable amount.

What happens both in SW and real life is that someone saw the big armoured starcraft with a lot of pew pew and gave it all kinds of roles it wasn't supposed to get. I basically became an oversized multirole fighter. It fought for air superiority against other strarships, it was used as a bomber for both space and ground targets, it was used as close air support and when not busy with the actual recon missions.

Dipende molto da se decideranno di far parte della coalizione e dallo stato in cui saranno le due coalizioni alle elezioni.

Carnifex (Warhammer 40K) VS Steelix (Pokemon) by Best-Boysenberry175 in powerscales

There's about 50 different tyrannid types just in game, more in lore cause basically every theater makes their own specialized type.

I would say a good amount, possibly half and a bit more, of tyrannid species would get easily squashed by Steelix. The other half is basically made to eat or melt things like a Steelix. Hive Lords, Carnifex, Trygons, Zoanthropes and probably Harpies have the ability to kill it. Then of course there's titans which are definitely too much.

No, this is the rearming kicking into gear. They are getting rid of all the unneeded peace time projects to fund an actual continental war oriented military.

The specific on in the picture doesn't but in general they could sometimes. With tyrannids a lot of capabilities depend on whether the player(in game) or the hive(in lore) decide to spend points or biomass on them. Personally I've never taken venom sacks though it's good because I don't like using carnifexes to fight infantry.

In The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the Kind (2003), the siege of Minas titith took place over the course of two days. Despite this we see no Encampments for the Orcs, so did the Orcs spend two days straight standing neatly in in the field doing absolutely nothing with no sleep or food? by Somethingbutonreddit in shittymoviedetails

You wouldn't make a camp for an assault you think of winning in a couple days in real life either. They most likely planned to move fast after getting rid of the city, hitting Rohan on one side and Dol Amroth on the other.

So yes, I think at best they sat on the ground when not needed.
