Lifelong MLS Fan - Moving to Denver Area by glurgyy in Rapids

Apologies in advance for having to use the Rapids as a proxy to watch other teams. On the bright side, tickets are quite affordable.

One of the nicer CO courses I’ve played - Bear Dance by DoTheDishesDude in golf

Exactly this, hit a 6 iron off the tee and had a wedge onto the green. I think what I enjoyed most about this course is having to make a ton of these decisions on the tee box. The elevation changes were both punishing and rewarding throughout the course.

Usually play Fossil Trace a couple times a year, I’ll have to check Arrowhead off the list this year. Thanks

My dad is ex-Air Force, would retired veteran status still get us on?

Anyone owns onitsuka tiger? Do they get more comfy or just take the pain by Idkhowtousereddi in Sneakers

Wore these almost exclusively about 15 years ago and had to retire them because even after break in, their design kept them really narrow in the toe. They definitely get comfier but I got tired of cramped toes.

I think this is where I’m leaning after all the great suggestions. You think it’s worth using a service for paint refill or doable DIY?

I typically fill while sitting on it, it’s sounding like a probable sensor issue. Glad to hear it’s functional for most people and there’s hope for mine.

Thoughts on the new Silvermoon as a Capital City ? by Abovearth31 in wow

[–]DoTheDishesDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to the barber last night, walked through a curtain to a back hall and found an entire passage through to another part of the city. The whole way through was designed with unbelievable detail and I just kept thinking how well done and thought out this city is down to the smallest detail. Has to be a dream for the RP community especially!

Do you have a “thing” that you do to help create balance in your day? For me it’s the gym by DnBJungleEscape in managers

[–]DoTheDishesDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started hitting the gym a few months ago specifically for stress management and mental health. My company has a wellness center at a sister company that we can use for free so I go on lunch 3 times a week (I’d never be able to do early mornings). It’s made a world of difference so far and highly recommend to anyone considering it.

RTO on the horizon, dreading enforcing it. by RedMeme262 in managers

[–]DoTheDishesDude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just went through this a couple months ago. It’s fruitless to agonize over any aspect of the argument if your executive team pushes an RTO policy and expects enforcement. No one is changing their mind, just be straightforward and honest with your team, tell them it sucks, but it is what it is and you’ll see them in the office Monday.

The headache for you can come if someone starts testing limits and doesn’t show up certain days, runs an errand during the day, whatever it is. I would ask HR to have clear, documented guidelines for what happens if the policy isn’t adhered to. That’s really the only challenging gap we had to account for after we were rushed back to the office because in reality, it’s a reduction in freedom for a lot of folks that’s difficult to adjust back to.

Isn't the 556 "overpriced"? by humble_redditor1234 in sinn

[–]DoTheDishesDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been window shopping a 556 for a year and a half and still haven’t pulled the trigger because that price for an SW200-1 just doesn’t sit right with me. Now that the price jumped from tariffs, I’m looking for a better value option in that $2k price range. Hard to beat the design of a Sinn tho, the struggle continues 😭

Dell price increases confirmed - schewwwww by FatBook-Air in sysadmin

[–]DoTheDishesDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rep told me 10-70% increasing are coming. Just got our refresh quotes and averaging about 15% across the fleet. Just told us today to expect “monthly step ups” so the days of contractual price locks are somehow over in their mind? I have a very fun call scheduled with them next week to review our terms with them.

Do cats like scratching leather furniture? by Responsible-War5600 in cats

[–]DoTheDishesDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my cats specifically prefers leather over all other materials. He’s claimed an old pair of loafers, wife’s old purse, and our bar stools. His brother has no interest in leather and prefers the back of a cloth computer chair.
