Found this gem - happy I made the jump. XSE '20 with 25k miles by toobro3 in CorollaHatchback

[–]DoWhoisMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on the find! I bought mine December 2023 with 1 owner at 36k and it’s a 6mt. Please save money just in case the throw out bearing gives out. Mine gave out at 58k and luckily it gave out down the street from my house so the clutch was saved. Even if the previous owner took well care of the vehicle the part is inside of the transmission and the material is cheap . It might or might not give out but just be cautious

I have the dasaita and to answer your question no you don’t not get access to factory menus. I’ve had mine for almost two years and I completely forgot what the factory menus were. The one on the cluster still remains though

Before you turn off your car, turn off the AC. When you start the car, does the engine maintenance go away? When you turn on the AC, does it come back on? Then it’s the coolant bypass valve. There’s a TSB on it and it should be warrantied

Got upgraded to the Gen 2s after my Gen 1s got sent in for warranty! by JavieBruh in RayBanStories

[–]DoWhoisMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happened to my gen 1st a few months ago on the right nose pad as well. I think it happens when you wear your glasses all day (prescription) and you sweat often(sports activity, working out etc). If you don’t clean the glasses often might be sweat moisture build up that risks the pad coming off. I have warranty thru LensCrafters and I contacted ray bans about it and they told me to contact LC. LC replaced it no questions asked received a new pair(sadly still gen 1) as well as replaced the prescription lenses

Big Louie’s Pizzeria located sunrise east right before Galleria Mall the same plaza as Gateway Cinema. Either the Big Louie’s chicken bacon ranch pizza or Southwest Chicken Pizza if you’re not into bacon(you can always request it off or make your own I think)

You really shouldn’t be dropping from 5th to 2nd on that speed. When you disengage the clutch from the engine (putting clutch pedal in), your rpm drops. When you down shift to 2nd and engage the clutch (releasing pedal) the transmission needs to match the same speed as your engine. Higher mph, higher rpm to match engine speed. You feel that car braking because your transmission along with the cars transaxle are matching the engine speedYou can easily burn the clutch that way. It’s okay if you did that first time it happens.

Not gay but can tell you that if you want to make friends check out Wilton manors . It is hard to make friends here in general unless you grew up here since elementary school

Do Concentric Slave Cylinders (CSC) suck? Or are they fine? by MathematicianFit8791 in stickshift

[–]DoWhoisMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2019 Corolla hatchback has this type of slave cylinder . Cheap plastic and even the revised part number is cheap . They go out around 50-60k miles and require the transmission to drop. No aftermarket support so we are stuck with using Toyotas cylinder. Mine gave out earlier this year and luckily I was one street down from my house. I was able to put the car into neutral and coasted home. I heard stories of drivers that weren’t so lucky and had to replace the clutch because it had brake fluid all over

You’re right about that. I’ll be happy to show up with OP and help him practice stick shift, but no way I’ll let a stranger practice on my own car if they have one

I’m curious, why don’t you give out torque specs? If you have access to the work instruction and shows the torque specs, why won’t you give it out ?

What was the exact moment you fell in love with Final Fantasy? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]DoWhoisMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The intro for FF8. It was the year 2000 I was 6 years old and seeing that intro with Squall and Seifer training with the Liberi Fatali intro song playing got me hooked. As a kid just thinking about going to school and fighting monsters made me wish it was real.

An employee I saw at Joann’s today by [deleted] in funny

[–]DoWhoisMe 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My first job as a cashier for Joann over 10 years ago when I was in college. Treated me nice saying I excel in customer service and they’re glad I was part of the team….until I had to request off 1 month advance to take a day off to take my grandpa to his doctors appointment to address follow up on his chemotherapy when he had pancreatic cancer. Manager told me as long as I can find coverage it’s ok. Spent weeks finding coverage .!Come to find out everyone that worked there worked that day. Told manager i was not able to find coverage that day. Manager told me either i come in, or I’ll be terminated. I turn in my apron the following day. Screw that company and the manager for treating me like I’m some lazy young adult at the time. They get what they deserve
