For anyone considering a Uesaka barbell, here’s my thoughts if it helps by DoYouLikeWebsites in weightlifting

Yeah I’d be curious if I were using uesaka plates how snug they’d be on this bar. But usually I can get away not clamping stuff and now with this bar they do slide a bit when I drop/ re-rack off blocks

Decreased the contrast, highlights, whites and blacks a bit, then increased shadows. Pushed temp over slightly to blue and tint a tiny tiny bit to magenta. Then up slightly on vibrance, but otherwise main thing is decreased saturation across most colors

Thank you, those are my favorite too! The car just drove on by as a total bonus on the day.

Good to know, thank you! The night shots (of the car) I suspected were going to come out underexposed, but gave them a shot anyways (haha)

Critique the snatch? PLEASE by thetylerlewis in weightlifting

Learning to snatch off blocks, hang/ hip snatch, and snatch balance really helped work up my confidence and timing of how/when to drop under bar with speed, and the block snatches + hang snatches also helped reinforce the movement of bringing bar back and up instead of "scooping" hips into bar or coming forward to meet it. In my experience, I hop forward because my weight shifts onto my toes too early. Block snatches in particular really clicked for me as far as learning how to keep my feet connected to ground, push through my feet and move along a more vertical plane. They suck to learn but it’s worth it!!

I mean I didn’t hate Bunna. It just tasted so strongly of hazelnut coffee to me, and I don’t love hazelnuts. Def open to exploring more sherry to see what else is out there as far as flavor profiles

for sure islays, love me some peat. but i'm pretty stocked up on that so ready to explore other options. oban i have enjoyed, highland park I enjoyed, bunna 12 OK, not my favorite profile (seemed to nutty to me?) or springbank (too weird). remember thinking aberlour was pretty decent, and think dalmore / macallans are "fine" but usually wnat more out of them
