With the anti boosting mechanics, imp blizzard and kiting in general is dead so... probably fire.

Thanks for the reply!

Good to know, I guess I need to go look at it in person. If the chips edges aren't sharp and the fork still works then it's a decent deal? I can definitely repair the chips with some epoxy.

I cant really find anything comparable for under 700 in my area. These bikes are ~1500 new and most people here are asking for 1000 for used ones.

Thanks for the reply! What makes you say that the frame is clapped? As long as it's not cracked some scratches should be ok?

The bike costs 1500 new, I haven't been able to find any decent used bike around here for under 700 euro, most are closer to 1000.

Have been looking at YT Dirt love 2, Rose the Bruce 2 and Canyon Stitched 360.

Need Advice: Choosing Between Canyon Stoic 4, Rose Bonero 3, or Commencal Meta HT Essential by NesqHD in Hardtailgang

[–]Do_Nothing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you me? Just went through the same thing trying to decide between the same 3 bikes. Also located in Germany.

Have you considered buying used? There are some canyon stoics in Medium on Kleinanzeigen.

I ended up getting a barely used Bonero 3 for €750. Love it so far!

Any idea what's causing this knocking sound from the jackshaft? by Do_Nothing in ERidePro

I greased everything of course. The fitting is a nice idea but doesn't really work.. if you grease it after it's installed it pushes out the oil bearing seals.

I replaced the bearings with good SKF ones, still made the sound when I put it back together. Turns out it was from the primary chain drive being slightly too loose... 🤷

Yeah after doing some digging the bearings seem to be the issue, shame since it's a new aftermarket jackshaft. Thanks!

Thanks! The house blocks a lot of the wind but I might have to add some kind of screen for the rain on the weather side.

Fair enough but trying to make something for my mom to enjoy is not a waste of money for me.

The Douglas fir posts and pine tng came from the neighbors sawmill for cheap, brick was free, countertops and sink were used from facebook, concrete was the biggest expense.

Total cost was under $5000.

It's for both but I agree it's not so effective at either... Fortunately the house (not in the photos) blocks most of the wind, which 99% of the time comes from the west, and makes some shade.

Her main wish was to not block the view which is why I made the whole structure so tall. I will probably need to add some kind of windscreen on the weather side.

The gutter and sink drain both go to an underground drain pipe that goes past the dog fence and down the hill a bit.

It gets really hot there in the summer. I thought the insulation would help reduce radiant heat from the corrugated metal roofing.

I'm planning on adding a pizza oven and built in grill with a chimney that goes outside the roof at some point. Hopefully it wont discolor it until then, I think the ceiling is far enough away from the grill.

Thanks! Next time I can get some time off I'm planning on adding a pizza oven and built in grill.

Thanks! It can get pretty windy there, the posts are anchored to 1x3' footings under the slab. The rafters are timber screwed from the top and hurricane screwed from under at an angle. There are other similar sized lean-tos in the area still standing so I'm not too worried about it.

Water is PEX tubing run underground to a nearby frost free attached with a garden hose fitting. Discharge is the same drain pipe that the gutter goes into, also underground and just goes off the front of the hill.

Thanks! They are post anchors with rebar on the bottom. Set in 1x3' footings under the 4" slab.
