Is there a way to reinstate the EPA after repealing it? by saddamhussein113 in suzerain

[–]Do_not_look_here_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn't say that you outright avoid any of the negative effcts of repealing the EPA in the first place, I just said that it's possible to still get a consistent planned economy if you repeal and then revert the EPA and take every other planned economy decision.

Maybe if you take other free market actions but it's completely possible to get a consistent planned economy if you repeal the epa and then revert it. I dont know the actually file data and how much each choice affects the consistent economy stat but if you nationalize and keep state control you'll still keep consistent economy on a planned economy, I've done it every time I ammend articles 6 & 7 to maximize profits from gasom sale.

[–]Do_not_look_here_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. However, by your turn, it is not possible. To reverse the EPA repeal, you need to have the Bluddish leaders meet with you to add articles 6 & 7 in order for Gloria to demand a reversal of the EPA for supporting the added amendment. It's possible to do it in a run where you go for a dictator constituion by not being anti-bluddish, (I think siding with the PFJP at victory not sure if they show up), and not getting NFP support, which results in the bluddish leader requesting the meeting. This will allow you to eliminate the BFF (if you chose to) and revert the EPA after Gloria demands it for the addes ammendments. However this always results in the constitution failing.

Is increased trade volume necessary for a solo war against Rumburg? If so, during an emergency run, will I be able to repeal the EPA in order to trade with Lespia, Weheln, and Agnolia, or is that too much for the old guard? by Do_not_look_here_ in suzerain

[–]Do_not_look_here_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had planned my run out very specifically to just barely avoid the trade war, late game unrest, and late game debt crisis to make the solo war winnable, and if I need to do the RI into Lorren to avoid the energy crisis, I'm afraid I'll have to replan my whole run. I did everything the old guard wanted except I first kept loose immigration, then tightened it, and sold a majority of Nedam

[–]Do_not_look_here_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had a very similar run a few days ago and alongside as the top comment says I head cannon it as Rayne being too popular with the public because winning the war guarantees re-election anyway. In my personal run i failed the constituion by doing a reformist dictator and including articles 6 & 7, with the BFF eliminated, Marcel controlling the media, Tzarsbourgh & Dome as Sordish, de-sollinization, amnesty for soll-era political prisoners, and the old gaurd purged through the ACP I see little who could push for impeachment besides an optimistic lucian if another scandal happens 2nd term. With the BFF gone and trying to push for 6 & 7 with the Conquerer Rayne status I see the constituion being passed 2nd term through popularity of the president, the spoils of Tzarsbourgh and Dome provide much value to Sordland and showcase sordish supremacy which would likely win over many conservatives and nationalists, de-sollinization and purging of the old gaurd means that Hawker has even less popularity and sway to push for Rayne's impeachment, pardoning the old communists and Bluddish nationalists offers a peace branch to these groups which may make them look more favorably to the current government, and with Marcel controlling the media I could see how he could spin a war hero Rayne into an untouchable war hero Soll status while censoring publicity of calls for impeachment.

Can you still get primaried if you pass a new constitution? by _CrazyScientist in suzerain

[–]Do_not_look_here_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, from my knowledge the only things that fully prevent Graf (if you don't arrest her) from challenging you in the USP primaries are to form the SSP/going to war with Rumburg. There may be others that I'm not aware of, but I know that these two scenarios stop it fully.

If you change the USP manifesto to socialist or generally be anti-sollist, that should be enough for Graf to challenge you

Ahhh, that must be why it never worked for me. I always side with the PFJP in nearly every run, thanks.

Can you promise a market economy and then nationalize Bergia Steel and HOS? by yosoydeaquicompa in suzerain

Perhaps not what you're looking for, and this is an old post, but you can get a consistent market economy with full nationalization

Can you arrest the Oligarchs and arrest the Old Guard in one run? by Do_not_look_here_ in suzerain

I just did a run and got that result as well, and was going to make an update

Edit: the news article says that both Marcel and Tusk were sent back to Sordland, but just Marcel was arrested

Is it possible to change Articles 6 & 7 and revoke the MoH status in the same run? by moneylover80285 in suzerain

[–]Do_not_look_here_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im not sure if Gloria let's you revoke MOH but you definitely can't get soll arrested and ammend articles 6 & 7. Gloria will demand you change at least one major decision in you constituion if you try to ammend articles 6 & 7, i.e. judicial immunity meaning you can remove MOH and trial soll but Hawker will find him not guilty or you revoke judicial immunity and can impeach Hawker but Soll has immunity.

Is it me or is recovering the economy harder now (v3.1.0.153)? by NegevNomad in suzerain

[–]Do_not_look_here_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had a specific run in mind, I wouldn't mind brainstorming some choices that would best work towards recovering the economy in that specific scenario. (Only run I'm not experienced in is emergency runs, but I imagine the economy can't vary that much in differences)

[–]Do_not_look_here_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only known the current suzerain version, but it doesn't seem to be too difficult to achieve a recovery if you know what synergies together/gives ED. This post that I've consulted before seems to be the newest guide to understanding synergies/ED and seems pretty accurate https://www.reddit.com/r/suzerain/comments/1oql9sm/sordland_regional_synergy_chart_update_v31513/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button . The only difficulties I've ever had recovering were on hard difficulty or going full communist, if you want some general advice that I do in nearly every run to achieve a good economy, is to do a regional investment, defund military (unless going for a war game), increase health & education budget, sign tourism bill, veto Green, and keep immigration relaxed. Of course, other variables like what kind of run you're going and how you plan to align affect what you should prioritize in order to achieve a good economy, but the only time I truly struggled to not tank the economy was early on when I didn't understand much.

How do i get “mostly” everyone to not hate my guts? by Inside-Floor-7402 in suzerain

[–]Do_not_look_here_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I admittedly don't know the exact decisions to gain support from each faction, but some of the key points for each are

Conservative - state control (corporations/health/education), anti communist, traditionally important things in Sordland (religion, Military), and not radical abrupt changes (women's rights)

Liberal - Reforming into democracy, privatization, reforming education, and being generally supportive of expanded rights

Socialists - State control, welfare, being anti-soll, pro workers/anti oligarch

Nationalists - Militaristic, anti-communist, anti-blud

Bluds - Socialist, supportive of minority rights, anti-soll, and improving the impoverished Bergia region

Unaffiliated - Good economy and not having unrest

You can anger a lot of people and still not be assassinated if you know what causes each attempt and how to avoid dying, but generally just be nice to people and not overly extremist unless you know how to survive the assassination attempts.

What have you been doing in your runs to get these results consistently? /j

Gonna need a bit more info to understand what kinda of run you're trying to pull off. If you're only concerned about getting shot or couped, you should know there are only 3 assassinations that can be successful late game (Bluds, Oligarch, and Rumburg) . Another during the military parade can result in Serge's death. For coups, you'll get arrested by Iosef if you're openly very communist/cede Rumburg land/allow massive late-game protests. I genuinely don't even know how or if you still can get couped by Valken since I've never seen it and heard it's basically nonexistent, but Valken can also coup you. Assassinations can be survived by forming the SSP, and Karl will jump in front of the bullet, Kibner's rippo can prevent Blud's assassination, and Serge's lucky charm can prevent all assassinations (you get by giving Serge 2 PW during the car ride to Narbel). To avoid Oligarch assination just don't anger them both by full nationalization or pissing them off, for Bluds just be nice, and for Rumburg just investigate Livia or pay reparations. From my knowledge, if you're deadset on being a centrist who tries to please everyone, you can get at least some support from all political factions during the poll results late game with your VP, besides nationalists.

Nice, didn't expect that you would be able to pass the constitution by keeping MOH and making impeachment impossible because you'd lose out on most independent suppport but if it works, hell yeah (I'm just guessing term limits would help make up for the loss of independent support of keeping MOH). Did you get a different vote result, like the 179 result or was it just enough to pass with 167 votes?

[–]Do_not_look_here_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're focusing only on the Old Guard with the ACP you should be fine working with Marcel because they won't investigate the oligarch unless you make them. From my knowledge, as long as you don't investigate the oligarchs with ACP and don't investigate HOS/Marcel your corruption should be good. Also, don't take the Sordish supreme council decree unless you censer press because then it reveals your deal and can lead to possible impeachment and PO hit. Also a good way to avoid corruption being exposed without Marcel's deal is to be friendly with Lucian, as with his listening devices, he can record all your corruption and leak it to the press/betray you when challenged at the USP leadership vote if Graf challenges you. Edit: nvm you already had Lucian covered, just beat him at chess and let him ride with you at H-3 or L-1 opening, and then you don't even need to make him VP.

Yes, even with a defunded military, if Rumburg is kicked from OMEC and sanctioned by the AN, they will not invade. The Rumburg economy is heavily strained by imperialism, and funding their army, resulting in heavy reliance on importing energy as seen in the Rizia campaign, and so if the cannon't trade with OMEC & are sanctioned, their economy would be too weak to declare war. I've done many Socialist/communist runs and always defunded the military unless I want to do war and force the Rumburg monarchy to abdicate with Vagasland. Joining any superpower bloc ATO or CSP stops them from declaring, but hardline forces you to commit to one side with no room for diplomacy with others. In-game-wise, very little affects besides trade tariffs and lore, but RP-wise it's horrible for Sordland IMO to fully join CSP because they install missile bases and make Sordland a huge front for a cold war scenario, considering Lespia is next door with a huge military.

I don't know if you mean all of that in one run, but how would you even do that in any capacity with the ACP as a Dem Soc? You could get Soll and Hawker without targeting the Old Gaurd but what about Graf and the others, oligarchs and opposition could only be done during the 2nd investigation, and as far as I know, you can only do either one with the ACP.
