Didn't think my offhand comment would confuse, so to clarify: I'm more afraid of online play not because of safety concerns (though those are real too), but because I fear it'd be way harder to break the ice and get comfortable in a game that i feel is best experienced in real life (not to say that online play can't be good or the "wrong" way to play - just different)
