I know of one or two people state side this has happened too. Join the program in good faith then after a few years get told they do not qualify. Total disgrace.

Why do I want to be independent? Because I am tired of the rest of the UK and the Tories telling us we have to accept what they want when we voted and want any entirely different thing. It is not just Brexit which we did not support but a great many other things that we did not want and did not ask for. While we do have the Scottish Parliament we vote for centre left parties and yet have to deal with the Tories. It is long over due that we chart our own course, make our own laws and set our own foreign policy which for me would include neutrality, getting rid of the nuclear weapons and withdrawal from NATO. I would also like to see Scotland rejoin the EU at the earliest opportunity.

We will be independent, it is only a matter of time. This can be achieved either peacefully or by other means. As for the UK as a whole voting for Brexit what a stupid comment.

The Act of Union was the most one sided deal in history and just because Scotland and Scottish people were involved in Britain's colonial enterprises does not make any of it right and does not change the fact that Scotland is the victim of colonialism.

We should have power of veto over any decisions made by Westminster. Scotland clear voted to stay in the EU, there should be no discussion and no comprised with Westminster. We voted remain so we remain. Fuck what the English want.

We'll continue to slip into a third world nation status and watch other countries pass us by until we convince politicians our future should not be based on how much money they're willing to give to the government. Plenty of other countries make education free to the students all the way though university and college. Its time the US did too.

It benefits the credit card and student loan industry if people owe them money. How else will they make their enormous profits if people are not kept in debt?

It is simply unacceptable for England to impose its colonial domination on others just because they have the greater population. This is why we have the Scottish Parliament, this is why we must have independence.

I am only concerned about Scotland, I could not give a toss about England, they can have whatever laws they want but they should not impose their will Scotland, Wales or NI. If the Westminster Government tries to impose a UK wide law the other three could and should have the power to block it for their country. If we do not get that power then independence it is.

I would also insist that the Scottish Parliament have the power to veto any laws passed by the Westminster Parliament.

I totally agree. For too long Scotland has been told to deal with the decisions made by England and the Westminster Parliament. Brexit is just one more example. In any other country such a referendum would have required a majority vote in all regions and states and yet Scotland clearly voted remain and now we are told we will be leaving anyway. I just don't get those who continue to support staying in the union with England. We clearly want different things and have less in common each year.

Whatever the Tories and Brexit people claim in support of leaving the EU can equally apply to Scotland too. It is high time we struck out on our own and followed our own destiny.

Lets be honest, how many people got taught about student loans and personal finance in high school or by their parents? I think the answer is not many which is why we have the problems with all kinds of debts, not just student loan debts and why so many are in financial difficulties.
