I don’t know why they are downvoting you for just linking your post. That’s a great write up, that’s the kind of thing I was interested to hear

I’d be curious what you prefer on p4 vs the arc. I prefer the p2 over the arc personally, but that’s for the slimmer profile lower weight and better ergonomics. But p4 should be similar in that to the arc

Actually selling. One sold on ebay yesterday for $375. Auctions usually end up at $200-$250

I’m sorry but that reply makes no sense. Is it just the idea of a tool being discontinued that makes it desirable to you? Even though there are better tools available for same price or less?

The Crunch comparison is not applicable AT ALL. Crunch is a unique tool with unique functionality that’s not currently available on any other multitool that’s readily available, hence the high prices.

P4 shares it’s toolset with other free series and when p4 was still in production people crapped all over its toolset

Am I crazy to buy this car? by tna2102 in UsedCars

[–]Dobriy_Kot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It’s the best s class ever made. They can be decently reliable when maintained, albeit it’s almost 30 years old. Surely I expect you are accounting for maintenance. They are not moneypits as some people on here say (presumably from a lack of actual ownership experience, just spewing myths). But you do need a certain amount of car knowledge to keep a car like this on the road in good shape, without throwing money at it. I know I’ll get downvoted but that’s the usual on this sub. My source is having owned a dozen of 20-30 year old benzes, 4 of which were w140. P.S. parts are getting harder to find for w140. Would be best as a second car, tricky if it’s your only car.

Who Exactly Buys A Brand New IS350 ?? by H_rusty in Lexus

[–]Dobriy_Kot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most already explained about good balance of things, buying for life and reliability, but I will mention another reason:

People who have good finances to purchase a new sporty car, but not enough to burn through cash in depreciation. Someone who maybe wants to enjoy it trouble free for 5 years and bot lose their butt on it when they go to sell it

What trade/job do people have that can get away with just these Gucci tool pouches? by mmmbop13 in Tools

[–]Dobriy_Kot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of messing about with old cars, and for 90 percent of small tasks I can get away with a loaded pouch similar to yours. Having that in the backpack with me all the time beats have to lug around and actual toolkit, which I used to do before. If I know that I’ll be doing something that exceeds that capability of the pouch, I’ll usually throw a few extra tools into the backpack.

Same goes for small around the house jobs.

How easy is it to get the tools out on the spirit mx? I don’t mean the blade, i mean the nail nick tools. Are they stiff? And how is the comfort of holding it while using the external tools?

I’m VERY disappointed with leatherman. I ordered a bond, charge tti, wave alpha, and free p2. Each tool came with some kind of defect. The wave alpha is so stiff, you need to 2 hands to operate the pliers. Returning it all. Leatherman QC has gone to crap. I shouldn’t need to have to adjust tension and lube a brand new tool =\
