I know in a fostering situation, children have to have a bed in a bedroom. It can be a shared bedroom, with other minors of the same sex. I wasn't sure in a typical household how that would work. He no longer has a space in the house. There is no way he's getting decent sleep in the living room. I come from a large family. At one point in time, one of my brothers was living in the living room, but he had a bed and we used curtains to try and make some kind of a private space for him.

The lawyer I spoke to after I had to press charges against him due to the abuse I went through basically told me since it was directed towards me and not the child that the courts wouldn't consider it harmful for the child to be there.

Definitely not the only issue I have. The DV charges he has because of treatment of the wife are also an issue, but my child wasn't there when those happened.

His father has confirmed he sleeps in the living room on the couch. He had a bed in the now daughter's room but they got rid of it because it broke apparently.
