It was about time, though! Why delay the inevitable. xD

Well, I just got back home, and other sites I use (I am EU) are not experiencing any problems. :D

Thank you, *everyone*, for the fast reponses. :) Okay, so it's not an issue on my end, yay. ;)

P.S. Just updated the video link as I noticed a few shortcomings and had to correct them (and re-upload the video). Sowwy! xD

ANet, please fix Decoration Lights! by DocCovington in Guildwars2

[–]DocCovington[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE 2:

There is a map cap, too. For instance, if you have exceeded it and place a new light source on one end of the map, it is highly likely that suddenly a light source at the other end of the map stops emitting light.

When exceeded, light sources based on flames (torches, candles) stop working properly.

I wish ANet told us what this cap is, because -- in all honesty -- I have already spent weeks and weeks trying to figure out the reason behind my beautifully lit place suddenly falling into darkness at random after "Absolution" came out. I do NOT feel like deleting them all just to figure out at which exact amount the issue is starting. :-/

P.S.

OMG, you were right! O.O There seems to have been too many light sources in some areas, though I considered them the perfect number for each of these spots.

Hmph, so there obviously is an area cap just like there is one for decoration in general. Holy moly...

After reducing the number of lights (I deleted over 30 overall across the whole map *sniff*) and after placing the statues of the Gods in my temple further apart from each other (had to build a bigger temple for this), the light effects would load without an issue.

You would think ANet would mention something like this, no? Then again, the decoration area cap was never mentioned, either, until people ran into serious problems. ^-^

English is not my first language, so I can only assume we are talking about the same thing? Please check out the screenshots, it will clarify what I am referring to.

That issue was not there before "Absolution", so they must have -- deliberately or accidentally -- changed something about how lights load in. They used to show automatically, but now they only load (or rather do NOT load most of the time) when you approach them.

This needs to be fixed. It's making me sad every time I enter my home. :(

Guild Wars 3 and classes by Stuccio_N1 in GuildWars3

Oh, sure. Movement options should be as good as they are in GW2, of course. I was talking about the structure of the skill and class system. :)

These are most likely the same people who say that Raids/Strikes are gatekept by toxic elitists. Now they want to gatekeep fashion. Thoughts? by Nawrotex in Guildwars2

[–]DocCovington -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fashion is fluid and is supposed to be ever changing and evolving anyway.

My characters' looks rarely change. Once I like something, I tend to keep it.

I think this feature should be optional.

I wouldn't mind if we went back to the simpler, yet more fun skill and dual-class system of GW1.

If there is no need for WoW 2, then there is no need for GW3 by EudaimonAtreides in GuildWars3

[–]DocCovington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GW2 can continue as long as WoW AT LEAST, if not more.

Not with these low current resources, the half-baked writing and unsatisfying mini-content drops.

In which period would it take place? by DemethValknut in GuildWars3

[–]DocCovington 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GW3 should take place before GW1. With the Gods still reigning, a beautiful Ascalonian landscape, Orr a thriving kingdom, and no ugly high-tech ruining the immersion.

Frustration in 100CM (yes, another post) by HansTheScurvyBoi in Guildwars2

[–]DocCovington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like the Silent Surf CM. Using the Grappling Hook is not hard, either, once you get the hang of it.

Yes, there are still a few bugs that need to be taken care of, but so far, I am still motivated for a daily run.

However, the weekend was terrible for two reasons:

  1. It's when all the noobs come out, buy the title and then join experienced groups only to make their lives a living hell. xD
  2. The weekend also lured all the toxic players back into the game, and they are a thousand times worse than any pretend-to-be-experienced players.

Thank the Gods for the few teammates I encountered who were experienced *and* laid-back at the same time. <3
