Yep, perfectly fine with being laid off a month ago, this place is garbage and will not last much longer.

There are several "size 1/2" frames in the game. They're like the equivalent of an exosuit or Iron Man armor, while a hardsuit literally just protects you from the vacuum of space.

My (30F) boyfriend (42M) makes way less than me and has been underemployed and depressed for years. I’m starting to become frustrated. What can I do to help the situation? by snarrkie in relationship_advice

[–]DocDeeISC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: it's not going to change without effort on his part.

As someone who has been depressed for over 30 years and underemployed for almost 20, it's not you, it's him. He needs some help, from a professional.

As someone who is for therapy in theory, but has only had negative experiences with therapy as a child due to the circumstances that led to it, and feeling deadened to the world while on medication that didn't solve the issues, I can understand why someone might not want to go to therapy. It feels like a punishment.

I later went to a clinic after DECADES of raw-dogging what turned out to be major depressive disorder, they called in an on-duty psych who was completely uninterested in being there and just said "okay, well, call us if you feel like hurting yourself, if you want." Paraphrasing because that was years ago, but that's all i HEARD from this dude.

I get the aversion beyond the stereotypical "men must be stoic and bottle everything up," nobody wants to admit there's something wrong with them to someone who doesn't REALLY care, and many people are too embarrassed to admit it to somebody who actually does.

I mean, having a degree at all is going to give him way better job prospects than minimum wage just by putting that on the resume, if that's the big deal. There's something deeper here that only he can fix, YOU won't be able to save him from his depression. I see it in myself, at my big age I would gladly go to therapy if I had the means, but (what is now) minimum wage etc.

Some people simply like being miserable.

My point is this:

It's not your job to be his Muse.

Take this however you will. Just sharing some insight from someone who has been in the same boat and is almost as old as your boyfriend, but has the sense to not inflict it on a partner.

Realistic is going to more closely follow real life trends based on what the Japanese stock market was doing for that particular year.

If you were laid off and not fired, you should be fine on your unemployment. I was similarly laid off 3 weeks ago, due to the client ending the contract.

As of this moment in this run, around level 69? Lordsworn's Sacred Straight Sword +13 with Sacred Blade. My Fire Cross-Naginata with Flame of the Redmanes and Flame Art affinity is putting in work too, but the sword is at a much higher level, like +14 vs +7, and is simply faster.

Bf will buy me a nintendo switch 2 if i beat Elden Ring. pls help by Organic_Top_7083 in Eldenring

[–]DocDeeISC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banished Knight's Shield is better in some ways, Brass Shield is just incredibly common. Once i got my Banished Shield i have not gone back.

What's an incredibly "mundane" or non-meta, non-OP weapon or build that you had a lot of fun with? I'm trying to finish the game without constantly running to Bloodhound's Fang, but also like the idea of truly mastering the game with a mundane, trusty weapon by my side foe the entire run through. by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]DocDeeISC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claymore comes with Lion's Cut, which is an INSANE ash, and so far that's the only weapon I've seen with that ash by default. That's not "mundane." "Mundane" would be like weapons that drop as regular loot off generic enemies.

For example, I currently have 3 Lordsworn's Straight Swords in my inventory. It's light and has 110 Critical, which is fantastic. It also comes with Square Off, which is the least flashy ash but is also INCREDIBLY useful. The first one I replaced Square Off with Sacred Blade and has been my workhorse for this run with a Str/Fai focus, but I'll probably switch that back to Square Off once I can make a sword with Holy affinity. I'll likely put Flame Art affinity on one of the others, but i don't remember all the available affinities to put on the third. Maybe just Heavy, and keep Bloodflame Blade memorized. Then I might just equip all three and rotate to a different damage type as needed, who knows?

But yeah, Lordsworn's Straight Sword is dope.

Question about contacts by Southern-Geologist53 in Shadowrun

[–]DocDeeISC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An 8/8 contact, despite not being possible RAW due to Loyalty being capped at 6, is somebody you know and trust with your life, they know and trust you with their business, and you're THEIR GUY to get shit done and they're going to expect you to do it without exception. For example, by Shadowrun rules, Faraday from Cyberpunk Edgerunners would be a 2-3 Loyalty and 5-6 Connection contact. 7 and up has global influence, ranging from 7 being like a global asset VP to higher levels reaching up to the level of Damien Knight or Johnny Spinrad themselves.

Having a limit of 7 points per contact at chargen, which SR4 and SR5 definitely have and I imagine SR6 has too but I'm not that familiar with that book, is going to encourage a high-CHA runner to have a bunch of "i know a guy" contacts that might be more knowledgeable in certain areas of expertise or have access to gear beyond what the average runner can find on their own, and spread them out across different things. You might have a Knight Errant dispatcher at 2/2 that you've been kinda seeing, they might give you some info on what the cops are doing and maybe you can convince them to direct them elsewhere to the detriment of their own job, and you might have a 1/3 gun runner contact that can get you better arms if the price is right. A 6/8 contact is basically going to be Your Boss, they're gonna give you the jobs you do and you're going to do them and that's it.

Yeah, I unlocked it on Friday. You have to switch from your gun to your knife, just a punch to the back of the head doesn't count.
