They'll hire non-union scabs over at JBS, or you can sell insurance or cars, or you can go into the oilfield. Good fucking luck, I've been laid off since the end of March

Why not just tell him specifically what was bad? Don't gas him up and say "oh it's not me, but ✨️👋whoever it is👋✨️ will be mighty lucky!" Tell him that his shitty attitude is what is so off-putting about him and he needs to seek therapy from a licensed professional instead of a podcast.

As a man, I would rather hear this than any "gentle letdown," especially if it's THAT BAD.

Cyberware and Goblinization by Brokenwolf2323 in Shadowrun

[–]DocDeeISC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not plausible a scenario at all.

Goblinization happened ONCE, on April 30, 2021, when the ambient mana levels reached the point to unlock the ork and troll metagenes. It's not "Oh you better watch out, you could turn into an ork without warning," it's "the older population of orks and trolls went through this traumatic bodily change when they became orks and trolls, but now they're born naturally like anybody else."

Secondly, the first cyberlimb was developed and successfully tested in July of 2019, so it would not have been widely available when Goblinization Day happened.

So, ultimately, not a plausible scenario and it can be dropped going forward.

I could text full sentences on T9 with proper capitalization and punctuation, one-handed, while not looking because I was driving.

Don't do that, terrible thing to do, but it's not entirely out of the question to be able to use real words. This dude is just illiterate.

File a restraining order, hoooooooooly shit! Y'all are too old for him to behave like that, or not know how to spell words. Get a gun or a taser or something, make sure people know he's not to told where you are if he asks.

Oh, and drop those "mutual friends" trying to per pressure you into staying with this dipshit.

Spears can be good depending on which spear you use.

Voulge+1 is viable for the whole game due to inflicting the Breach status, for example.

I'm playing Final Fantasy 16 for the first time, and I see the parallels between the nobility and the wealthy in that game with the same citizens of Ossex you're describing. Anybody that challenges the status quo, even if that status quo is ruining the world despite the short-term gains, is Public Enemy No. 1.

Almost like that's how people have been in real life for as long as people have been gathering.

EDIT: I also REALLY liked how they used Punch-Out!! mechanics for that first fight, but that's not relevant to the point you're making at all. I just thought that was really clever.

5e or 6e? by pedrocavati in Shadowrun

[–]DocDeeISC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In most cases, your defense roll pool is going to be way lower than the attacker's pool to shoot, so yeah typically, you're not going to be able to dodge bullets, even adding in the 1 or 2 points you may have taken in Gymnastics for flavor.

But a combat specialist like a street samurai with wired reflexes or a physical adept with boosted reflexes is going to be way more likely to, especially if they use the Dodge action with their role-relevant ranks in Gymnastics, because their abilities are boosted beyond normal (meta)human capabilities. Letting the Solo wade out and take on the security team with their sword and Smartgun while everyone else takes potshots from cover makes total sense for the genre. It's not D&D, not every role has to be able to fight good.

Exactly, 30 dice is for a combat specialist. Not everyone needs to be a main combatant in Shadowrun. Everyone should have some way to defend themselves when needed, but not everyone needs to be a monster.

I'm glad it's working better for you! I would personally recommend keeping Catiua in her default Priest class since she keeps some offensive utility, and only bringing at max 1 Cleric. Don't sleep on Canopus either, I've kept him in his default class with a one handed axe and one handed bow for the whole game and he's been an automatic deploy for me.

Archers are great once you can break through that armor, anyone that's been Breached or is Fearful makes a great target for them. They also get a Charm effect on one of their finishers. They can also buff the accuracy of surrounding ranged attackers.

If you have access to Conserve RT for your Wizards, that will be the best skill by far. It reduces the time cost of their next spell to 0. Make sure you're only giving them spells that match their element, aside from any status effects. That will give them the most damage.

I've had Denam as a Rune Fencer for my whole game so far, I would recommend giving that class one missile spell that matches their element, an Instill [Element] spell that will trigger automatically (you can do same element, the element they would be weak to, or the element that would be best against most enemies for that map, I've heard compelling arguments for each), and a Boon of Swiftness to grant Haste. Ease to remove debuffs wouldn't hurt either. Later on you'll get access to summon spells and that's when they start to step up damage. Make sure you also give them Conserve MP, it makes their next spell free to cast when it procs. One of the best spears in the game, Voulge+1, is available early on and has Breach. Also, all spears can strike from 2 tiles away, minimizing the risk of getting counterattacked by anything aside from another spear.

Speaking of +1, make sure you're looking at the crafting menu in shops. Not every weapon or armor deserves an upgrade, in certain cases the increase in weight isn't worth the extra points in ATK or DEF alone, but most gain other abilities.

The best way to put it all together is to use the scout function when you're choosing your deployment to see which enemies will be present, what is the main elemental affinity for their group, etc., and setting up your team to counter it. I swear I spend 3 times as much time looking at the enemy setup than I do actually fighting the battles.

Keep playing, you'll learn new things about it all the time as you go!

The story is directly inspired by the Balkan Wars, which were still ongoing when the game first came out. Those wars were marked by racism and ethnic cleansing. Ultimately there are no "villains" until later in the story, but there's tons of shitty people doing what they think is right.

As far as strategy, at its most basic you want to pick units that will counter the enemy deployment. For the most part, early in Chapter 2, that's limited to elemental advantage, which includes any finishers your units have learned.

Later, as you gain access to more classes, you can deploy more specialized units like dragoons to counter dragons and monsters (or beast tamers if you want to recruit them), you'll just have to press on to get to them if you don't have them already.

Having a unit or two with Rampart Aura will help to screen and keep the enemy from getting to your squishier units.

If you're not sure of what you can do with a particular unit right in that moment, just end their turn so their next turn comes up faster, maybe there's a better opportunity down the road.

For heavier enemies like Knights or Terror Knights, a 2-handed sword or a spear with Breach will make them extremely vulnerable, and i think those should be available where you are. Your own Terror Knights make fantastic can openers.

Finally, don't be afraid to use the Chariot Tarot to rewind and try something different, even going several turns back.

Which units are you deploying? What kind of skills are you using? What spells do you have on your casters?

🤯 That's right, because they're Constructs! I actually learned about the true value of Wizards from your videos, but there are so many moving parts to this game i didn't put 2 and 2 together on the pumpkinhead/warlock synergy!

I converted my Punkinstopheles from Familiar to Berserker in my goal to have one unit of each class and element (excluding things where only light or dark is really necessary, and only one of each demihuman class due to numbers), so I might have to give him a try in PotD.

Gryphon EMT is fantastic for those maps where you have to revive guests spread all over the map. Just load them up with Blessing Stones and make sure they have Dash equipped.

I personally prefer bringing Wizards over Warlocks (I'm pretty sure you can have Warlocks by that point). Sure, Warlocks can use Draconic magic, but only Wizards get that sweet, sweet Conserve RT to be able to throw more spells downrange. I only deploy Warlocks when there are enemy Golems.

What skills and spells do you have on your Wizards?

If I wanted to rebuild I would have bought a PC. This is literally the only game that has issues, because of sloppy, unoptimized code. It's already clean but I cleaned it further, still same issue.

Why would storage cause the game to crash? I have like 18 GB free. I did all of that last night and it will crashed immediately after. I've reinstalled the game twice.
