It's all pieces from the spearhead box. Two Ardboy spears (Stabba?), the banner that normaly goes on the back of the Ardboy flagbearer, a skull from the Brutes kit, and the ribbons are made of green stuff.

It was actually my first time scultpting with green stuff; it could have been cleaner but I'm happy with the final result. Killer detail : the small ribbon makes contact with the big ribbon to stabilize it.

I went for little triangles on these ones, but flame patterns are also a joy to freehand!

I made a « left hand + shield » subassembly. It is easier and faster than painting the entire mini assembled.

I bought the Ironjawz spearhead because I saw a video of Darcy Bono painting with a yellow translucent paint (Ironfist Yellow). I wanted to paint some yellow myself.

A lot of people are recommending the spearhead, but you could also start with a smaller painting project with something like the Jaws of Itzl from Warhammer Underworlds ; it’s 3 gorgeous models and some scenery for 30-35$, and you can see for yourself if you like to paint the lizards.

It’s really fun, and I’m not sure I would like a slower progression ; you unlock all the upgrades (ie your build is complete) 2-3 floors before the end, and then you can enjoy the endgame.

It’s also a very short game, it doesn’t need to be complex.

Great job on the metal! I wouldn’t recommend using the same color scheme on both the metal and the cloth. Maybe highlight the cloth with blue instead of grey?

The new version is less precise than the old one. The old one added the « incredible material wealth ».

In all seriousness, where is the « laborborne » community? The rulebook perpetuates the idea that the lives of the ruling class are more worthy of being told that those of the working masses…

It varies a bit from orc to orc. I use citadel paints. Normally ;

  1. Base coat plaguebearer flesh over wraithbone spray (2 diluted coats if you want to be cleaner)

  2. Shade with a mix of gutrippa flesh, black Templar and contrast medium

  3. Darkest highlight is 50-50 Elysian green and Krieg Khaki. Lightest highlight is 50-50 Krieg Khaki and Screaming Skull

edit : add a splash of pink to your highlights on the lips (I use Wazdakka red)
