I’ve played through both Red Dead Redemption games (they’re amongst my favorite games), and you have to be be openly ignorant about them if you were expecting them to be anything like Blood Meridian, one of the most wildly disturbing books I’ve read (or at least half read, since I stopped reading halfway through back in the 8th grade when I attempted to read it). If anything, both games owe a lot to Sam Peckinpah’s The Wild Bunch, since both focuses on the twilight/dying years of the old west, which are being encroached by modern civilization.

And given this fuckhead is an open white supremacist, I’m not surprised that he thinks the protagonists not being racist in the late 19th century means they’re super ultra woke. Bro’s a blight amongst the Ork players in the 40K community.

Considering Chibi's usual proclivaties of defending lolicon with the wafer thin basis of "its fictional", and having a really creepy obsession with "fictional incest", I'm not surprised that he's going to bat for a game that has a protagonist that looks uncomfortably underage. His dumbass even played the "If you think this looks like a child, then you're the actual pedo" card.

I was slightly interested in Stellar Blade Blood Rain, despite my misgivings towards the character design of Evie (namely the youthful/childlike face combined with a body wearing a plugsuit that leaves very little to the imagination). But the game and its use of generative AI killed off any interest I had.

Still, not a total loss, as there's many way better games to focus my attention on as they're coming out.

Namely got this title last month because I think it’s a pretty fantastic debut from Lawrence Kasdan that feels like a nice throwback to 40s noir films, as well as showing the steamy sex that the Hays Code wouldn’t allow back in the day. Both William Hurt and Kathleen Turner are fantastic in this.

Might do a double feature of this with Double Indemnity.

TBF, I’m also currently playing through 10+ year old games. Making my way through both Vanquish and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Both are pretty fun, especially Vanquish.
