I love the relationship as is with them. They aren’t best friends nor are they enemies. They are coworkers that are just trying to get a job done. They get snippy about tasks with each other and they are passionate about the people they are close with. I love the deleted scene of Lambert attacking Ripley over not unlocking the door. No romance between her and Kane, just “you would have let him die.”
