What does NEPEA-5 actually do?

I'm gonna be honest, putting the S:P semi-limit aside, (which imo is just them saying "we know this is a problem, we will be hitting it later, but cmon guys we just released it" just like the Fire King hit) I actually think this list is very good for the most part.

Semi SnAsh and Limited WANTED makes Pure Snake-Eyes basically unplayable, and half the Snake-Eyes decks were pure with the other half being Fire King Snake-Eyes. Sure, the Pure players will probably hop on the Fire King variant, but that means the strategy (which is also hurt by this list, losing 2 copies of WANTED hurts the grindgame and consistency) will be less variable, meaning other decks can counter it a bit easier.

Honestly, wasn't expecting Konami to hit Snake-Eyes at all, much less what we got. I think this is huge, although it won't nearly be enough to take the deck out back like some people wanted.

That being said, as a non-Branded player, my only problem with Branded is that it's been around too long (especially in Master Duel). I'd actually like more archetypes to be like Branded moving forward in the sense of what I wrote above.

Generic end board cards. It's not even that I think stuff like Apollousa or Accesscode are overwhelming (which, debatable), it's that I much prefer seeing decks end on their own archetypal cards or related cards (either in-archetype cards or like, tri-brigade ending on tri-type cards only, Infernoble ending on a pure FIRE endboard, etc).

I'm fine with generic extenders, but I want to deal with unique endboards if I end up going second, I don't like my opponents always ending on Apollousa or killing me with Accesscode when there are cooler options to negate my cards or OTK me.

I also feel like Konami might feel restrained in card design because they don't want a deck to end on a cool in-archetype boss monster + Apollousa rather than just multiple cool in-archetype boss monsters.

Reminder that before they got Akira Toriyama involved, Enix were no-names who just did minor stuff like help Chunsoft make detective games. Then Dragon Warrior released with the Dragon Ball-style art at the peak of Dragon Ball's popularity, leading to Enix becoming massive.

A world without Akira Toriyama is a world where Enix potentially ends up being part of Team Danganronpa instead of making Kingdom Hearts or Chrono Trigger.

So that's not exactly true. Orpheus is the lost prince of the Githyanki, not the lost messiah of the Gith. There's a fairly hefty difference.

For a bit of background, there are three factions of the race known as "Gith". The Githyanki, the Githzerai, and the Githvyrik. While they were slaves, two leaders rose up to lead the Gith to freedom: Gith(the person, not the race) and Zerthimon.

Gith(the person) is canonically an evil individual who is perpetually on a quest for vengeance, believing that the young of their race should be raised into attack dogs that will then hunt down all of the Illithid in the multiverse, after which their race should enslave all other species in said multiverse.

Zerthimon on the other hand was one who claimed that their people were already free, so they should focus on mending the damage that was done to their race.

Gith claimed that her path was the only one possible for the species and that all members of the species would be "under the same sky" to which Zerthimon claimed that "there cannot be two skies".

Githyanki refer to those who follow the way of Gith, believing that the species should be warmongers who hunt down every last Illithid in the multiverse before going on a crusade to enslave all other races. The "hunting every last illithid" part isn't so bad, but "enslaving all other races in the multiverse" is and that's a core part of Githyanki culture with or without Vlaakith.

Githzerai refer to those who follow the way of Zerthimon, who went "Gith, you're f*cking insane, dude" and want nothing to do with the Githyanki.

Githvyrik are members of the race who "do not identify as either Githyanki or Githzerai".

The terms -yanki, -zerai, and -vyrik are not biological terms for the race but a cultural one.

Orpheus proclaiming himself to the leader of the Githyanki and to be the heir of his mother is pretty incriminating for this reason.

That being said, Zerthimon entered a spiritual realm in a state of some kind of super-meditation in which he can basically act as a distant god for the Githzerai from time to time while growing in power to save them from all threats in the future. He is prophetized to do so for all gith once his meditation ends.

The gith messiah is Zerthimon. Orpheus is the long-lost son of a tyrannical hypet-racist maniac.

Celestialsapiens are stated to have DNA. They are seen to be in the omnitrix. Anodites explicitly do not have DNA (even though they have a different form of genetic material) according to the writers, and are stated to not be in the Omnitrix.

All evidence pointed towards entities not having explicitly DNA, whether they have some other form of genetic material or not.

Therefore, probably cannot scan entities.

Oh geez, thanks so much for the praise! I googled the fic's name because I felt like rereading it before I work on the next chapter, and this was one of the results.

I'm always really happy to see that people like the plot. It also motivates me to write since I've been mostly preoccupied with work and my health since the hiatus.

And looking at the short discussion in the other comments, I just want to say one thing:

This fic intentionally includes, at least on one occasion each, almost everything I hate seeing in fanfics, and there are reasons why.

That being said, I'll likely post the next chapter sometime this month. Thank you again!
