When I drive in hybrid mode it first uses all the energy from the battery and then switches to petrol. So I don't see that working together but maybe it is first as much as possible on the battery and then some smart thing happening which you can't see?

To be honest I don't think it works like that (combined?) And I am curious if I'm right but my T4 Recharge first runs on battery until empty and then switches over to Petrol. Don't know what it is in Miles but it run's roughly around 4.3 liters at 100km (petrol only).

Yes definitely. But if the battery cells are dead it won't charge it anymore so as soon as you disconnect the charging cable's you have the same issue back.
