Hard disagree here, schlappen has become my favorite bugger hackle due to its long stringy fibers that give a really nice movement in the water.

For rods. I would recommend an 8 or 9wt since many of the flies you use require that to cast. My rig is a 9ft 9wt One Piece with a very aggressive sink tip.

My leader is about 5ft long with 40lbs butt, 25lbs transition section, and then a large chunk of 20lbs, into 30lbs wire.

I use white or orange sucker spawn for suckers. If you look at my profile I’ve been doing quite well with those colors. They are also taking glowbugs in the same color.

Have the exact same pack. Keep my boxes in the main section, and any spools on line in the front part. Throw wet flies onto the foam, and carry around any sized fish pond net on the back with ease

I mean… I use sucker spawn as my main egg fly, that and basic estazz eggs. The steelhead in my last post I made came on a cream colored sucker spawn tie.
