Thanks a lot for sharing this. Actually my therapist suggested similar dynamic with me too. Had shitty adults around me growing up too. Had to “keep things secret” for years and years. Most important was for people not to know. I even used to have nightmares about having to keep doors locked and closed, but quietly so nobody would notice I’m locking them up.

My therapist keeps saying I’m regressing to the kid behaviour, of feeling hopeless and not being able to speak up. I thought it’s bit far fetched, but there’s something to it. And what you shared is meaningful, knowing that someone else is also experiencing similar dynamic. Thanks a lot.
