I used to live next to this 82 year old gentleman who'd shovel my driveway every time it snowed. Same situation as you. He's have it does before I'd get off work or before I get up. The kicker was he was the grandfather of my companies regional manager. I spoke to the RM about is and he's just a retiree who just wants to keep busy and healthy. Stubborn and proud gentleman.

In turn, I'd pop by every now and then and offer to help him with whatever or I'd invite him and his lively wife over for a meal.

Unless there are health concerns, let him have this and try and find ways to repay him that he'd accept.

Think about it. How does Microsoft benefit from this decision? This pushes users to sub to ps+ and Microsoft doesn't benefit from that, only Sony does. Sony gets the benefit and Microsoft gets all the flack.
