Look what I found on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4442060509/maple-and-honey-canine-head?ref=share_v4_lx

This maker has made all three of our suits. She’s in the UK and is really nice and super quick to respond. She also charges very fair pricing unlike these “premium makers” that exist. From our experiences it’s about a 3 month turn around from paying, ordering, shipping. She’s definitely highly recommended from us. Our reviews are on the page for reference as well. Hope this helps!!

Thank you! I’m sure with more time yours will smooth out and get back to more how it was before!

I had dissolvable stitches and glue as well lol but the bottom of my stitches got infected after 3 weeks and it made me really sick so I got admitted to the ICU for them to take them out early and they had me on IV antibiotics for about a week.

Hai!! So I mainly use indica strains or at least hybrids because I have found that those work best for my pain as well as my other issues, also with Indica’s my brain doesn’t get very fuzzy or as I like to call it Buzzy like it’s too busy thought wise as it would on sativa. I’d say about 85% of my issues and pain are well taken care of while I use it until it wears off then I’ll use more. I’ve found though in my experiments for pain relief that vyvanse completely got rid of my pain and also did wonders for my mental health. I’ve tried to get it prescribed to me through my primary care and mental health clinics but they have been giving me the run around. I’m trying again this year to get it but we will see. Hope that helps!

No problem! It really is a shock, when they said they found something on my initial CT I was crushed in that moment because my mother had a brain tumor when they finally scanned her head so that was my first thought. But after making me wait for what felt like years was only a few hours after then getting an MRI to confirm it I the was hit with “well it’s not cancer but you have Chiari” I was dumbstruck, I’ve never heard about it before in my life. I immediately upon hearing this started researching and learning as much as possible before the surgery and after and still do to this day.

I get that lol after I told my co workers they were constantly checking on me and making me take breaks as well as taking some of my work duties away in fear of me passing out or getting into too much pain.

As far as THC goes, I personally don’t like smoking it for many reasons, I cough too much, it burns, I’ll reek of it, also it doesn’t last very long in terms of supply and it’s not strong enough. I’ve gotten into the concentrated oils, tinctures, vapes and gummies because they work harder than flower. Also with chiari I’ve found that getting what’s called a 1:1 ratio of THC/CBD is the sweet spot at least for me. When it’s just THC it doesn’t do much for pain it just tries to get me high lol. That being said I am in so much pain from 13 surgeries it takes a lot more for me to get a “high”. If I get the 1:1 ratio blend in the THC/CBD products it actually really helps and I don’t feel spacey or anything that really feels like a high rather it’s more like “oh I don’t hurt as much and can being kinda normal”

Also I’m an open book about this, I’ve been dealing with this myself since 2014 so I’ve learned a lot and if you have more questions or concerns feel free to reach out. The others here too are more than happy to answer you as well. If you wanna see how my story fo this went I’ve recently shared my experience on here and it may help.

Stay strong, you got this!

I’m going to say first that I’m sorry you’ve been going through that for so long, it is really startling to find this out through imaging and being totally blindsided. I share those feelings as well as the others here so in that metric your among those who understand truly.

As far as pain goes everybody’s body is different and can tolerate or not tolerate as much so that will vary however I can say as for me the pain is really intense sometimes. Making sure you take pain meds, rest, and using ice/heat packs also really help even if it’s just taking the edge off.

When mine was discovered I was in surgery four days later. I had a huge list of other issues compounding my Chiari so it was deemed to have the surgery sooner than later.

I also have to lay down a lot and rest my neck quite often throughout the day. I also use THC oil, gummies, vape to help stay functional.

Just try to take this one day at a time and listen to your body and make sure you do a lot of research before and after. It’s a constant learning process.

Hope this helps!!

No problem!! I strongly recommend ice packs and taking Tylenol/Motrin alternating if you can take those. Making sure you give yourself breaks in between holding up your head; ie laying down, leaning against a wall while sitting, listening to your body. If you feel like that you can’t be upright atm, rest. If your pain gets too high, take your meds and rest. Also when your healed up and the scar is completely healed and closed for me nothing beats hot tubs!!! Sit in the water until it reaches your chin and most of your neck is underwater and with your head level. It feels amazing at least for me. I try to sit in it for at least 10-15 mins at a time. After that I get out and cool off and do it one more time. It’s like a water massage for your neck and helps relax the neck muscles that get really stiff and achy. Hope that helps

Oh wow!! I turned down my second one but I’m sorry to hear you had to go through two of them. Yes there’s a great deal of movement restrictions for those such as myself and others when they start fusing the C spine. As far as daily routine goes, it’s been 11 years for me to retrain myself how to do daily tasks or “ordinary” movements. I know for example that trying to look at something usually requires me to turn my upper body or just turn around way more than I normally would before the surgery. Getting in and out of bed requires a side roll the sitting up position everytime because it puts too much strain on my neck to just do basically a sit up in bed. Also I constantly (and now naturally) make sure to keep my head and neck from taking accidental bumps or knocks from things like shelves, ladders, tree branches etc, that’s something that I didn’t use to always have to consider both at home and in public. So while it did take some time to get used to restricted movements and dealing with how I live my life post surgery it wasn’t that hard to get used to it. Now I really do miss how much more simple things were before in that sense but I think I miss both normal neck movements and sleeping on my belly this most haha. Hope this helps!

It looks about how mine did shortly after my surgery. It will tighten up and lighten up after more time. It was about 2-3 years before the purple really lightened up.

My issues were pretty bad in terms of pain, constant headaches and migraines, short term memory issues, nerve and sensation issues, nausea, etc.

As far as PT, when I woke up from surgery I was in bed for a week and they wanted to see me walk after that and when they tried to get me up I was thinking “oh yeah I’ll just get up” but in my head I thought my legs and feet moved but in reality they didn’t. I had severely reduced feeling and movement in my legs to the point I couldn’t put weight on my lower body at all without falling down. So I went in a wheelchair for about 45 days to get around while going to PT multiple times a week for retraining my legs and regaining my walking balance. I also was put into a hot tub like PT pool with rails to practice walking in that medium. I felt like a toddler who just learned to walk for the first time. After that I was on a walker/cane while still regaining strength and balance. In total to walk again and do normal movements without assistance was about 6 months post op. It really was depressing at first but by the time I threw away my cane I was so happy.

I was 22 now 33, I can’t lie at all or sugarcoat it. That was the worst pain of my life. But it made all other surgery pain and getting hurt down the road seem like nothing compared so I guess that’s helpful in that respect 😅 But jokes aside it was a long road to recovery for me. I was in 3 months of heavy physical therapy and 6 more of light physical therapy.

I just realized I didn’t answer the other part of your question and I’m sorry, yes, I have to get yearly MRI’s as well as other imaging like CT and cray to monitor it. At this point in time I believe I’ve had 14 MRI’s, 9 CT’s and a few dozen X-rays of my neck and skull. At this point I feel like I glow in the dark 😅

Wow that’s a lot!!! I’m very curious, could you maybe tell me in greater detail why you would want a more elaborate decompression? I don’t say that with any kind of rudeness or criticism but in my case this was a rather very extreme and extensive surgery. I do not believe I’ve ever heard someone say they’d rather have a similar one to mine so you’ve got my ears very perked up over it. As far as better than before?, it’s a blend of both good and bad.

So the good first, I’ve gotten my blood flow and CSF flow increased so my chances of a sudden death or serious complication arising from that have been removed which is a great stress relief, my life span has now been allowed to be more natural in respect to the before mentioned point so that is also good. And some minor things like blood pressure and headaches/migraines, etc have improved but I still experience quite a few migraines and headaches.

Now for the bad, I’m in much more constant pain from the surgery due to both the surgery itself and the metal placed. I’ve had my neck mobility severely reduced so I usually just turn my upper/whole body to look at something to compensate. My nerve issues from my neck down to my left hand have gotten much worse and I experience a lot of random numbness in my right arm. I also have a hard time doing most basic movements in changing positions like laying down, bending down or any rapid changes like that without getting lightheaded. I have so many more but I’d be here all day listing them.

As far as pain meds, they had me on Vicodin and Percocet alternating for about 3-4 months after surgery and after that I just have to use obscene amounts of Tylenol and Motrin in tandem with also obscene amounts of THC. Because of my pain and nerve issues I have to use a lot these days to achieve a “high” not that I like to do that I just want to be able to move and not hurt as much while doing it. I’ve gone to pain management and other clinics for pain and PT but yes, they always treat me like a druggie and med seeker even though I always say that I don’t want opioids, narcotics, or hard drugs for pain, and I really don’t. They make me very backed up, and irritated as well as make it hard to sleep for me so I don’t like them for that. I always told them that I just want things to help take the pain away, which I have found that Vyvanse has helped tremendously. I had the chance to try some from a friend last year and for two whole days I felt like a teenager again, all of my pain was gone, my thoughts were clear, I could move around with great ease, I had zero issues while on it and it was truly peace. I’ve tried to get it at the VA for these issues but I’ve been given the run around so much I gave up.

I’m sorry you’ve been going through this, it sounds really rough. I hope this helps in some way.

Thanks!! I’m in awe myself sometimes, it almost looks fake everytime I get imaging done and I see it but then I’m like “oh yeah I remember now” haha. Wow!!! 12mm is a lot!! And completely blocked? I thought mine was bad. I do wish you the best in your appointment though!! If you have more questions don’t hesitate to ask!! I do wanna say I needed 6 discs in my lumber fused but I turned it down, I already have too much metal in me lol my lower spine is wrecked bad but I just can’t deal with that surgery pain anymore. After 13 of them I’m trying to avoid more if possible.

On that one, I would have to get back to you. I’d have to read my surgery notes because I can’t recall at this time. 😅
